Dear Folks,
now that Christmas and New Year's Eve are again just around the corner, you may ask what Guesty is planning to do this year.
Well, actually he wanted to do ... nothing. Just lazing around, watching kitschy X-mas movies and stuffing himself with gingerbread and cinnamon cookies.
But yesterday we got an urgent letter from Rudolph (maybe you remember that last year Guesty celebrated Christmas with the red-nosed reindeer, and he even was allowed to help pulling the sledge).
To cut a long story short, Rudolph is down with the flu, got it from his reindeer chum Donner, and his red nose just won't stop running. That's why Guesty will have to be running - to Lapland - to pull the sledge, you know? Otherwise there won't be presents this year :- (
So, on Tuesday Guesty will pack his bags to head for the icy North. This little bulky book ... always involved in adventures. Me, on the other hand, I'll spent the holidays with my family as usual - but for sure this will be nice as well :- )
And Guesty has promised to throw down snow and nuts and chocolate gingerbread men for us when flying above our heads on Christmas Eve. Don't you promise too much, little bulky book! I'm sure you will eat all that sweet stuff yourself ;- )
Anyway, we wish you a cosy Christmas time and a beautiful, dazzling new year 2009! We'll be back for you on 7 January. Take care and don't you drink too much eggnog :- D
Insa :- ) and Guesty :o )

I watched that trailer and it is sooooo cool!!!!!!!!! The movie looks like it'll be good. Their's another trailer coming out sometime before November. :)
To Everyone Interested in Watching the HP Trailer:
DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING ON YOUTUBE UNLESS IT HAS THE GREEN PREVIEW SCREEN THAT SAYS IT HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR ALL AUDIENCES AT THE BEGINNING!!!!!!!!! Some of the "trailers" are really just spliced-together clips from the last 5 movies, maybe with a few stills from the trailer that have been released. Be careful . . .
Jessy:
I went over a vertical jump! Not just a crossrail!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!! It may have been only a foot or so high, but it felt great!!! I'm very excited about it, maybe you couldn't tell?!!!!!!! On the downside, though, school for most of the people at my barn is starting next Tuesday (mine starts a week later), so that means I probably won't ride for at least another two weeks. :( I did have a good day, though.
Bye! for now, anyways. |

@The Black Hood- That's P=pretty cool finding a kitten. Well we have two cats at my house. One's name is Ringo and the other name is Spooky. And my cat's when they were kittens did the exact same thing as your kitten is doing. It was so fun watching them play together. Well what color is the kitten? And is it a girl or boy? Both my cats our boys.

I love Inkheart trilogy and hope to find your other books until Inkdeath comes out.
So it is obvious some Dustfingers gonna come alive again, right?
Are the actors for the movie what you pictured? I always pictured Dustfinger with brunette hair at first...
i hate that Inkdeath will be the end of Inkheart trilogy. it would be amazing if you surprised us with a fourth! I stay up and read Inkheart. when i sleep i dream of bringing characters out of books. and sometimes Meggie brings me out of my own book...
wouldn't you like to meet your actual characters like Fenoglio did? Or having a silvertounge? I want to write when i am older. I adore how you use sentences from other books. i felt like i was kissing farid when i read Inkspell! eww!!!!! i wonder if Eliza Bennet knows she will have to kiss
Raffi Gavron... ( is that how you spell their names?)
i think it is extraordinary to talk straight to the author!
i will mail you another time probably.
bye.
PS. do you call yourself a elinor, resa, magpie, meggie?
*** Hi Lilia, have a look at our sections "news" and "film/theatre", where you will find Cornelia's comments on the actors and the movie projekt. As for the PS, no, Cornelia does not identify with one of the Inkheart characters. Warmest wishes from Germany! Insa *** |

Hello everyone!
I found the kitten (again) today. but oddly enough, it's extremely annoying mother that wont stop following me (to the point that i almost trip on it) was nowhere to be found. it's now about a month old (I think) and today it was playing with a cork and trying to kill it... all because I tossed a cork beside it.
And I'm happy to say that I didn't get sick (amazingly)... funny story about expired yogurt tho... at my old school, they had this free snack thing going on for a while, but it stopped for some reason. but when it did, everyone forgot that there was at least 100 yogurt cups in the fridge. a few months later it got discovered, and the principal ate them! I think she even took them home too!
Anyway, i'm off,

Hi all, :-)
Olivia:
Thanks :-) yeah, everyone seems to use the guestbook for general talk as well...i was here a good few months ago and was as involved as everyone else in everything. It just feels awkward when u come back though...everyone's got their own little conversations going and you don't know what everyone's talking about! It's good to be back, though, even if i don't quite know everyone yet :-)
So when did you start writing in the guestbook then?
Cody:
Good luck with your story :-) It's very true that names and titles are one of the hardest things to come up with when your writing a story - i'm sure they'll come to you eventually though.
Inkpen:
You're not the only one - i don't know what everyone's talking about either! I was gone from the guestbook for quite a few months, so i'm finding it a bit hard to keep track.

Has anyone watched the new Harry Potter trailer yet? I just watched it a few hours ago...it looks great :-D |

I wish others understood the power of words that make up a story. I look forward to my children reading about Mo and Meggie and saying my mom made the story come alive just like Mo did. You remember the kittens I told you about? Six of them died! :( :( Slushie just couldn't produce enough milk to feed them all. Caroline says that Slushie lost her voice. (She tried to meow and she barely could. I think she's grieving.)
Jessy:
I (finally) went to the barn today. I rode early in the morning, around 8:30, to avoid the heat. It got up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit and the heat index was over one hundred! I had a good ride, Spike (the horse I normally ride) was really good. I was actually able to canter him, and after that, he got all hyper. When I was done riding, I had to do a lot of chores, including picking stalls, filling water buckets, giving one girl a lesson on the basic elements of dressage, dealing with a very mean horse named J.J., and looking after my instructor's four-year-old daughter. She is fun! Rather active, though.

Dear everyone,
To those who are beginning school in the next few weeks, and to those who aren't, I feel you pain even if I'm not there with you. I and four of my other siblings don't have to begin learning again until the end of August. I have been working hard on my book, and I think I may be able to finish it by the end of the year if I continue to have such good ideas.
My book would be called fantasy, and it has elves and other magical creatures in it. The name hasn't come to me yet, but I'm sure it will after a while.
All for now follow readers.

Cornelia,
The pictures of the Inkheart movie aren't exactly what I had imagined. First of all, I'd imagined Meggie as being a little shorter, having shorter, darker hair and carring that bag that she carries around in the book. Elinor could've been a little chubbier and not wearing rings. And Mo, is COMPLETELY WRONG! He shouldn't have bugeyes, should havebroder shoulders, and a different hair style.
*** Hi Raeanne, did you know that Brendan Fraser made Mo come to life? From the first page Cornelia wrote of Inkheart, Mo looked and talked like Brendan. Warmest wishes from Germany! Insa ***

Ello Ms. Funke!
I read Inkheart and Inkdeath a while ago and I LOVED them, they are some of the best fantasy, ficion esc. books I have ever read. (and yes, I read a lot of books >.<) About the movie.. I am kind of nervous about seeing it, (when it comes out) because I don't want the movie to turn out horrid. I would be so sad if it does! The only movie I saw that really did justice to the books was the Lord of the Rings movies. Oh well, I just hope it turns out well!

Hey Everyone!
I wanted to experiment with my desert recipee and for alck of ingrediants, was forced to use cherry yogurt that expired a month ago! im eating it right now and it smells a bit odd, and tastes weird like medecine does... i think the bacteria in the yogurt multiplied a bit too much... ok it actually tastes not bad, but i wonder.... hmn, my stomach just made a funny noise... ut oh... anyway, i wonder if I'm going to be sick soon, so i wont drag on too much...
I just went to take care of the neighbors cat and kitten, and it's finnaly not so afraid of me! it hides a bit, but it comes out almost right away! and it's really playful now too... lol today i put a clothespeg on the floor and it wouldn't stop attacking it!
@ Bec: My advice is to start as close to the initial point of action as possible. and from there make it vague so you want to read on... then just start, keep going, and make it up as you go, but put a lot of thought into it at first to visualise the first bit.

| Reading InkHeart has taught me so many things...How to imagine, explore, fear...live. Some of the words in this amazing book give meaning to the world of imagination. They make you think, then wonder and then believe. After reading InkHeart you get a sharp stab of disbelief that means the story is over but then just to relize that the journey has only just begun... |

I also agree with you autumn, but the actors they chose aren't always supposed to look like people in the books, kind of like in Harry Potter movies. If you have ever read those, they do not exactly match up to what people think they would have been. But what the heck, they all are pretty good actors! And Dustfinger doesn't look exactly what i thought he would have, but i think i will deal. Have a happy life reading!

My grandma never looked good after her chemo. She lost a lot of weight . . . and her hair! She got a wig that looked like her hair, though. She felt weak, but she still liked to go out into her yard and work.
Olivia:
They actually didn't expect Slushie to have eight. Her first two litters numbered five and six. She had given birth to five of the kittens, so my friend, Caroline, decided to go inside. The next morning, one of her little brothers went outside to see the kittens and found three more!
Bec:
Welcome to the guestbook! I'm relatively new here, too. Here's a bit of help about your story. Whenever you get an idea for a story, get it written down somewhere, like a notebook or a computer document. Then think it over. Where is it set? What are the main characters like? What will the plot involve? If you need to, do your research, like getting maps of New York City if that's the setting. I hope that helps! I currently have several ideas for stories, but I'm only working on one of them right now.
Have a cool day (literally and figuratively)! |

Ms. Funke,
I have read Inkspell and Inkheart, and I love both of them I have also read the dragon Rider, and I love that as well. I have been on your site for about 10 minutes, and i decided to see the photos from the Inkspell movie. Now, I love your books, but the actors and actresses they chose for the parts are terrible. Looking at the photos here ruin my vision of what everyone looks like because I have a totally different vision of what they look like. Whoever chose the actors, I respect their choice, but personally, I think that they chose the wrong people. I mean, Brendan Fraser for Mo?!Yeah right! Plus, Meggie is supposed to be what, 12?This Eliza Bennett girl looks at least 14!I feel that they have ruined many visions of Dustfinger, Meggie, Elinor, Mo, and Farid. The woman playing Elinor should be the Magpie. She does look kinda like a Magpie, no offense. Thank you for you immpeccable patience in reading this long 'note'. I can't WAIT to read INkdeath and The Thief Lord.
Sincerely,
Autumn Lynn Kavin

The Black Hood:
I really hope that the kitten is okay. In Slushie's (the mama cat) last litter, there was one kitten, who we appropriately called Columbus, who kept venturing out onto the cold floor when she could barely walk. She was the only one in the litter that didn't start crying (the floor was that cold!). Columbus did get into a lot of trouble, but my friend never lets her cats in the house. Oh, by the way, that recipe sounds really good. My cousins and I went blueberry picking yesterday, so I might try it.

@ Ellen: I'm taking care of my neigbours cats at the momment and I think he has 4 cats and 1 kitten (but I only saw 1 cat and the kitten... (the other's are scared of the mother cat because she keeps trying to protect her kitten... which coincidentally I can't find anywhere :s it must be somewher in the house, because it isnt able to jump up to the little cat door, but I couldn't find it anywhere... I really hope it's ok, but It wasn't anywhere... the mother cat couldn't find it either, because she kept looking everywhere too and meowing for it to answer... (at 4 weeks old kittens are no end of trouble, especially since it hasn't seen me for a week and is now scared of me and running away hiding places whenever I open the front door... every time i go there it's hiding siomewhere else... WHY CANT IT JUST STAY OUT IN THE OPEN!!!)
@Everyone: Raspberries are ready!!! which reminds me that this raspberry desert I made is ready!
Here's the recipee: no quantities available because I never bother to mesure anyway)
-Take a whole bunch of any kind of berries (it doesnt matter which, but if you take only blueberries it doesnt work as well) and mash them up in some sort of container that can be put in the freezer and that you can eat out of.
-add enough sugar to make it fairly sweet and stir.
-add milk, or cream, or yogurt (cream or yogurt works best, but people tend to have more milk in their fridges than cream) (for yogurt make sure the flavour is one that works good with the berries, or use vannila yogurt if you're not like me and think it tastes funny) mix it again. (add just enough to make it pinkish.
-add in a bit of cinnamon if you want, and a bit of vannila extract.
-taste and add more sugar if needed.
-put in freezer so that it's not so soupy and so that it will be cold.
-eat.
Ok, I'm good at cooking chilled deserts, pasta, and soup, but nothing more! but what I can cook I cook really good!
Enjoy! |

@ Susan: erm... i hate to poke, but why on earth do you need to coauthor if it's finnished? although I have read some coauthored books that were really good, but I'm not sure if it's the best aproach... because I've also read a great number of not coauthored books that are just as good. I don't know... but you're probably looking for an editor, which most legitimate publishers have... nonetheless I recomend that you simply write whatever it is you're writing on you own and maybe show it to some close friends to see what they think. After all, coauthoring involves 2 people in the writing process (I'm quite sure) and those 2 people may not always agree on everything.
But I have to say that if given the chance to coauthor a book with one of my favorite authors, I'd do it! but I think that it would be rather difficult to get an established author help you coauthor a book if you arent an established author yourself... unless of course you were best friends with Cornelia or something, but if that was the case you probably wouldn't be asking through a guestbook.
Hope I helped, but I seriously think that showing your story to a close friend (or 2 or 3) to read it would be best... that way you'd have a second opinion, and you'd see how your story is from the eyes of a new reader.
Bye Everyone |

Omg, it's been over a week since I've written! To help everyone catch up on things, I went to Chicago! YAY!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I'm still excited about it. They have all kinds of things to do their, we went to the Field Museum, the Art Institute, and this really cool old building that used to be the public library, but now its the Cultural Center. It has all these really pretty mosaics and quotes about books on the walls, and that was just part of the building! It also has a dance studio, a TV station's headquarters, and a HUGE photo gallery of Ellis Island. The pictures were taken sometime in the last decade , and they showed that the buildings have gotten into really bad shape. And I thought it was a historical landmark!!! :( Oh, well . . .
Actually, I'm not writing this at home. I'm visiting my cousins. We just got here a few hours ago. We left Chicago around six pm on Monday, but because of rush hour traffic, we didn't get home till one. I'm talking am here!!!!!! So, therefore, since we left for my cousins' house around noon, we spent a grand total of eleven hours at home. And we'll be away from home for about nine days, counting the ones in Chicago!!!!!!! Whew, I'm tired thinking about it.
The awesome side of things: one of my friends has a cat that had eight kittens last Wednesday!! They are sooooooo gosh darn cute!!!!!! So far, the mama cat has had nineteen kittens, all in one year!!!!!!!!!!! She keeps getting pregnant, so they haven't been able to get her fixed.
Jessy:
Guess what I did last Thursday? I lived my dream and went over jumps!!!!!!!!!! Okay, they were only crossrails, but it was still fun!!!!!! We went over a course of nine jumps. Oh, and I'm sorry about your grandma. Mine died of cancer, but it was in her abdomen somewhere. It began to metastasize (grow) and some super small spots began to appear all over her abdomen. The chemo just wouldn't work anymore. :( She was really brave right until the end, though. I'll keep your grandma in my thoughts.
I'll be back sometime . . . when you all least expect it . . . (evil laughter) . . . see ya!!!!!!!!! |

I am a writer of fantasy and would like to know whether or not Cornelia Funke would consider co-authorship given the right story. If not, perhaps, she can suggest a published/established writer who might consider such a project. I have a completed manuscript to discuss if there is interest. Perhaps this request is rather unorthodox but I will take a chance regardless.

Hey Everyone! I'm Back!!!
I was gone to PEI for a week and it was amazing! oh, and being away from everything helped me work out the plans of how I'm going to go about becomming my schools prime minister... I saw in prince edward island that they recycle EVERYTHING!!! well, almost, but here, it's practically only cans and bottles, and there isnt even a compost bin either... I decided that at the same time as i give my speach, I'll give everyone the chance to sign petitions for various things that I think need changing and for good reason... (nuclear disarmment, replacing gas cars with electric (ASAP), recycling EVERYTHING + Compost... and other more local things like more fruits and berries instead of vegetables in the cafeteria... oh and more bees! they're aparently decreasing in numbers, and if they go, we all go!) How's that for taking a shot at making a better world!
anyway, for the kazillionth time, I am NOT a girl. The Black Hood is a title given to Thormund Wardwell in my book, but seing as it isn't exactly published and poppular, I guess there could be confusion...
@ Inkpen: Driver's Ed? Huh? I don't follow, but I know what NOT to do when driving stuff! one time I was on a hill in a mini tractor thing, and driving up the hill, then I tried to change gears by pressing the klutch to make it go faster... it did all right!!! IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!! I was too stunned to let go of the pedal at first, but when I did it was fine... but it was going wicked fast... it was a good thing that I didn't put it in neutral, or it didn't stall like it usually does (I'm always afraid that if I put too much gas I'll hit something, because I'm not very good, but I tend to put not enought to shift up sometimes. (complicated (I don't know how to turn it off even)))
@Alex: I just finnihsed book 8 yesterday in the car, driving back from PEI... it was wicked good! (I found 2 (maybe 3) typos) i couldnt figure out though why Bobby was being so suicidal near the end... I thought of the bow and arrow way before it even happened!
@ Everyone: My book that I won came!!! It's here!!! it came 2 days before I got back! !!! And it came in bubble wrap packing stuff!!! and it's autographed too!!! it took 18 days for it to arrive ( I won it on Canada day because that was when J Fitzgerald Mccurdy was having a book draw) but it's finnaly here!!! lol I was psyched when I saw the envelope!!!
Anyways, bye everyone, |

Have you seen the movie 'Get Shorty"?? If you have, the language in this book is just the same. But i really don't care. I never repeat myself. (Maby in my head though) Well i have to go now.

I wasn't sure about the best way to get this out there, but I sent a lot of my fanart of Dustfinger for the fan gallery, but I also have it all in one place (along with many others) at a site that should hopefully make it easy for fans to find. I've gotten a lot of comments from people who liked it who said they were happy to have found the pictures again, so I thought maybe sharing a link here might be helpful!
The link is: *** Sorry Heather, but on legal grounds we do not refer to other websites here in the guestbook. ***

Olivia and Inkpen:
Thanks. I got through the funeral yesterday. My three best friends came. One of them, Mary, got there just as we were about to walk into the church. I had a breakdown and started crying all over her at that point. So, she walked up to the front of the church with me. She stayed with me the whole time. I'm glad she did. I seriously have awesome friends. They laugh when I laugh, and they cry when I cry. Sorry I went all poetic there. I've had a lot of poetic feelings recently.
Good news, though. I might actually go on a short vacation this year! Yay!!! My family might take a 4-day weekend to Chicago. My dad will even take off work. Unfortunately, I start high school on the 2nd week of August, and still have to get a uniform (ugh (shoes included)) and school supplies (notebooks, etc.). My aunt offered to take me, but I declined. Sometimes she can take things too fast . . . Oh well. |

Sorry it’s been a few days...Driver’s Ed is worse than SCHOOL! EEEK!
For Sarah from PA: WELCOME BAAACK! I remember you...do you by any chance remember an Alex from way back when? :-D
For Inkpen: It’s true, Alex did have issues. Haha, I feel like I’m just talking in third person! Not a lot of book characters are named Alex. Even less are Alexandras like myself. ;-) You know who I really loved in that series? Yassen. He was seriously my favorite character, even over Alex!! He was just so COOL. I guess assassins can be cool...okay well, not really, but still. He was a very dynamic character and I loved how Alex and Yassen were somewhat respectful of each other until. *TEAAAAR!* Yassen died. WAAH. No worries, I’m on your side about Sabina too. She sounds pretty, but it also seems as though she knows it. And people like that get on my nerves...she just seemed like a brat to me...we’ll see where it goes. Have you ever read the Maximum Ride series by any chance? If you haven’t, if you liked the Alex Rider series then you would ADORE Max Ride. She’s seriously one of my favorite book characters ever, right up there with Dustfinger and Edward Cullen and Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. :-D
For E.C. Lover: Hi there! Umm...that’s not even a question. I am Team Edward and always have been. ;-D Jake is...annoying. And he doesn’t SPARKLE. XD I don’t really mind him except when he’s being a total JERK to Bella. I’m so scared that he’s going to be a wedding crasher in Breaking Dawn...and then I will have to kill him. Too bad. ;-D
For The Black Hood: You are a girl (boy?) after my own heart! I loooove this architectural stuff. In fact one of the jobs I’ve been considering is an architect or an interior designer...keep us updated! I wish I could help you with it! :-D
Insa, you are my FAVORITE! “As for the guestbook, it is kind of a salmagundi, mingle-mangle, olla podrida, hotpot :-) People can post comments or questions on Cornelia's books, but also on all the world and his brother. They can post extracts of their own writings and they can exchange thoughts, stories, ideas, comments with other guestbook visitors. We are a motley crew ;- )” I couldn’t agree more. I’m glad you enjoy us...I can imagine that we get on your nerves sometimes. This is not the first time I’ve said this, but THANK YOU for putting up with us! You are seriously the bestest best Insa ever. ;-D
Abrazos, hope everyone’s staying cool in the sunshine!

Well, My computer seams to be strongly against me posting anything here, because I'd written quite a bit when for no reason at all the internet disconnected :-s (which i should really call the internet company about, demand to speak with their president, then give them a piece of my mind! and then politely ask if they could possibly set up high speed, and if they refuse, I tell them that I'll put up a huge banner in front of my house saying what I think about them and their company... Of course I wouldn't, but I'm tempted to! (It's probably some conspiracy to really annoy people and make them do spontaneous things...) Then I restarted the wretched machine and then it started talking about how it wasn't responding properly, then I was extremely frustrated and restarted it several more times until it worked!) Ok, my rant for the day!
@Inkpen & Dragon Rider:
I know there's going to be a LOT of wood involved... the beams are basically all that would stay, because the outside is entirely made up of old and quite ugly boards... oh and the tin roof leaks, and isn't particularly nice looking either (also tin roofs are extremely noisy, and I don't know how people un-noise them)
Ok, so complete demolition almost, but not quite, because the frame of the place is impossibe to put in without cranes (aparently when it was made, they had to get all the surouding farmeres and families to help out with makeshift cranes (like they did with stonehenge)) I'm horrible at estimating distances, but lets just say that it's about as big as... probably two tenis courts in length, maybe 1 and a half wide, then there's an extension that was made at one time on it thats about 2/3 of the original structure... it's about 4 stories tall I'd say, and as far as I know has no basement. Ok, the floors would be completely shot by house standards, so they'd need replacing, but the 3rd and fourth story would have large sections where there would be no floors and you could look down onto the second floor. There would also be a nice ellevator becuase of how big the house is and to accomodate anyone who can't use the stairs... but there would be a spiral staircase of some kind, maybe in the center of the main section, and spiralling around some huge pillar that would have to be brought in, but that would be carved to look like a tree trunk or something, with railing that look like giant vines and, and, and! Oh I'm getting caried away... lol but Dream big is the lesson here! and I think I'll write this all down so that instead of trying to find a free architectural program (which is impossible with dialup because they're all huge programs) I'll just write it down and have it visualised...
Sorry insa for the completely off topic stuff :-s and to think that I could have gone on for hours like that!

Dear Everyone,
It's finally raining here! It have been sooooo long since it last rained, I have nearly forgotten what it had smelled like.
Insa, I am glad that your sister finally got her drivers license, and I hope you get the chance soon to get her to drive you around if you ever visit again.
I have got most all of the ideas ready for my book and the only thing remaining is putting them all together. I had to kill off a character (an important one, related to the main character) and I only had to do that because when I think ahead to what other books I will write surrounding this same story, I just cannot picture him being in it. Oh well, i guess it was all for the greater good, but I actually did mourn for him when I wrote the part where he gets, shall we say 'bumped off', I really could almost feel myself crying.

Jessy:
Not going on any vacations this year . . . except perhaps to visit my cousins who live about two hours from here. So, yeah, I'm having a pretty lazy summer. Aside from the barn. I went all day yesterday and guess what my last chore was? Climbing up hay bales stacked at least seven or eight high (I'm scared of heights in a major way)! My instructor (and sometimes boss when I'm just working) wanted me to knock down two or three bales so we could feed the horses in the pasture. I scratched myself all over and got bits of hay in places I won't mention here . . . otherwise a good day.
To everyone:
How about we share stories about our funniest experiences over summer vacation? Not just this year, any year. Mine probably was this year, at a church youth event where we pretty much just threw jell-o and pudding at each other (LOL)!!! :-P Yeah, pretty fun (and funny)!!!!! One of my friends and I tried to slam bowls of chocolate pudding on the head of one of my friends. For some reason he ran away though . . . oh well, we eventually got them on someone else's head. He, on the other hand was delighted to have two hats.
I'll write soon. |

@The Blackhood- they way my bro did calculations on our backyard pond (Which in your case, you are dealling with a barn) But here are a few good ideas. 1. you have to add up how much space you have.
2. you have to see how much wood/brass/steel/metal, you are going to take up.
3.then when you have desided you have to see how much the actual thing costs.
4. then if you want you 'store' to be perfect, its nice to have some one with that sort of eye. When i was moving to a down stais beedroom, my mom asked a arcutecter(BLAH!, what ever his name is!!!) to come and look at the room, tell him our ideas, and then he can give you a good estament. THats just what i would do. but the most important thing is, keep dreaming!!!!!! (cuse if you dont, you and me will have a little talk) YAY!!!

hello everyone! only a little more to wait for Inkdeath! In the meantime I'm waiting for the book I won to come...
Besides that, the bookshop project has taken a new swing! Ok, I'll explain today, and it'll make sense...
I stated out getting compost to put on the watermellon plants so that they'd grow better, then I trimmed brush around blueberry bushes, then had lunch and went to my grandfather's barn to help him pile lumber.
Anyway, his barn is HUGE! So I thought that one day I'll renovate it... I was on the second floor at the time, and even though I hadn't seen the first floor, I know that that should be where the bookstore will be... and I would live on the upper floors (about 3 floors). I even planned that I'd have some student staying there eventually and renting a room, but whoever it is, they are a writer... But the sheer size of the place was amazing! And I live in a pretty big house too! (that majorly needs renovation still lol). Now the barn is actually being sold to one of my aunts and uncles, but were talking at least 2 million to renovate this thing, which no one in my family are even close to... so basically I now have a new longterm dream... I'm going to have to bring my camera next time I go there... and make drawings... hmn, I think I'm going to have to work on my book some more, because that seams to me like the easyest way to make that kind of money... even doctors and lawyers take at the very least a decade to make that much... Anyway, I'll keep the dream alive!
By the way, does anyone know how to sort of calculate these costs? because I have no Idea how you'd go about it...
I do know though that I'll have to make a deal with the bookshop or ill be extremely guilty :-s I'd hate to put them out of business with a giant bookstore when they can just help me run it and join up... |
