Dear Folks,

now that Christmas and New Year's Eve are again just around the corner, you may ask what Guesty is planning to do this year.
Well, actually he wanted to do ... nothing. Just lazing around, watching kitschy X-mas movies and stuffing himself with gingerbread and cinnamon cookies.

But yesterday we got an urgent letter from Rudolph (maybe you remember that last year Guesty celebrated Christmas with the red-nosed reindeer, and he even was allowed to help pulling the sledge).
To cut a long story short, Rudolph is down with the flu, got it from his reindeer chum Donner, and his red nose just won't stop running. That's why Guesty will have to be running - to Lapland - to pull the sledge, you know? Otherwise there won't be presents this year :- (

So, on Tuesday Guesty will pack his bags to head for the icy North. This little bulky book ... always involved in adventures. Me, on the other hand, I'll spent the holidays with my family as usual - but for sure this will be nice as well :- )
And Guesty has promised to throw down snow and nuts and chocolate gingerbread men for us when flying above our heads on Christmas Eve. Don't you promise too much, little bulky book! I'm sure you will eat all that sweet stuff yourself ;- )

Anyway, we wish you a cosy Christmas time and a beautiful, dazzling new year 2009! We'll be back for you on 7 January. Take care and don't you drink too much eggnog :- D

Insa :- ) and Guesty :o )

Hey,
I am not reading any books right now. i am just going through and reading random parts in Eclips. The only really exciting thing i have done is that i kidknaped my friend, because both our moms were yelling at us, so we went on like a hour walk. it was fun.

Dixie news: There is nothing really new. she is good. next week in my lesson i am going to ride my trainers horse Napolion. he is 3 or 4 years old and he can be a spaz some times. it will be very intersting.

Insa: to give you a heads up ( i dont no why i am telling you this but i though you might want to no) next week on Friday i am leaving for a 10 day mission trip! so i will be gone for 10 days! it will be very weird not talking on here!

Hey guestbook ppl!

I've been having a very vrey crazy past few days... starting with the fact that I fell flat on my face in gym, and cracked one of my front teeth. It hurt for about a minute, but I was surprised that I walked it off and then it barely hurt after that... I still need a response for the dentist, and in the meantime, i can't eat anything crunchy, or else it might make part of the tooth actually fall off. Oh and I found out that it's actually genetic; my mom did the EXACT same thing when she was my age... even in the same gym... only she broke both front teeth, and I only broke one...

Besides that, I finnished another book, and I'm annoyed that my library is closed from this friday all through summer... so I printed my resumer to get a job at a bookstore...

Well I'm now getting thorougly annoyed by the way I can never seam to film for The Renzo Aldridge Show. Every single day that I want to film is either too cloudy, too cold, raining, and the newest devellopment is that I had a sore throat tonight and couldnt talk properly on camera... Very annoying... Oh, and global warming is a lie... it's FREEZING here!!! It was abnormally warm in april (mai temperatures) and now it's april temperatures... the thing I like about this time of year is that you arent supposed to catch a cold... I hate climate change!!!

Oh and on tuesday I'll find out if my idea of a petition for a publishing company will go through. The plan is now in the hands of School Council (a council of teachers). and if it doesnt go through... I think I'll just have to try harder and get the support of all the english speaking citizens of Quebec... (I am deffinately joining student council next year, really I should have this year...)

Ok that sums everything up... and I jsut wrote this after an hour long walk into the village to close my grandmother's drapes for her to make it look like someone's there. (she's on vacation) that's why i said I'm from the ghost town... she's basically the only person that lives there...

Ok enought dragging on and on about everything... Now I should get some sleep and rest from the cold that I'm now pretty sure I have (but strongly hope it's allergies)

Hi! I'm from Maryland, I'm in the sixth grade-soon seventh-and I love to read! I think this website is great! I have only recently found and am exploring it thourghly. I am a giangantic Cornelia Funke fan( she is my very favorite author). My very favorite two books are Inkheart and Inkspell. I'm awaiting Inkdeath quite unpatietly. I even tried to buy the German adition online and translate it on the computer but all the sites that sold it asked for parental permission and of course my mom thought I was CRAZY. She told me that I would just have to wait. One problem, I NEED TO READ IT NOW and NO I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!! In the meantime I'm trying to fulfill my hunger for good books, but I have read so many books my friends don't have anymore books for me to read! Any seguestions? I'll try almost anything!

'Night
P.S. I especially like historical fiction or fantasy with a touch of romance. ;-)

I am a trainee teacher at Oxford with an emphasis on english.

I loved your books as soon as I read them and as part of our course we have had to explore an author and their work and then write an essay on one of the books as well as producing an A3 sheet which will help fellow trainees know how to use your books in school.

I have decided to write on Inkheart as I found this books so compelling and it captured my love for books and my imagination because as most avid readers will understand, we all want to travel into the books that we read and would also like to meet the characters that we meet whilst we read. These books have captured many of my Year 4 class and I hope to encourage more children to enjoy the range of books that you have to offer.

Many thanks.

Hey everybody!!

I have been so busy with school, but hopefully I will be able to post more often once summer vacation begins.

I wrote a really good story for literature class last week about ellis island. I love writing, but I can never seem to do it unless I have a deadline and a specific topic to write about.
So while I haven't been writing, I've been learning about web design. Right now I'm trying to teach myself javascript, which is extremely difficult and confusing. And I have nowhere to try it out, because I don't want to buy a whole domain-name.

I saw the new Indiana Jones movie, which was very good. The only thing that bothered me was that I kept noticing that Harrison Ford (who plays Indiana Jones) has two different colored eyes. No one else I talked to noticed that though, so maybe I'm just crazy.

All for now,
Daisy

Hey Guesty!
YYYYAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today I'm going to go see the new movie Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis who next to Cornelia Funke is one of the best authors. Funny thing is now that I'm back from Europe for two months I want to go back to Venezia and Switzerland. When I was there I kept yearning for my books. I want to know if there are famous movie makers in Germany too just as famous as people like Tim Burton, George Lucas, and Walt Disney. I definitely agree that when it comes to locations in The Thief Lord the Stella was the best of them all. My friend says I'm a bit like Hornet and say she's like Meggie. We both love to read, go to new places, and don't get as carried away like some people we know. What new books have you been reading lately? Do you like movies too? Which ones? Did you have a really, really good time on your holiday? What was the best part? Did Guesty enjoy it? Sorry about all the questions. I ask the same amount of them in math class but not with the same enthusiasm. I still love The Thief Lord. It has a very special place on my bookshelf right between Dragon Rider and Inkheart and Inkspell (very soon I hope Inkdeath will join them.) Here's an excerpt from the story I'm writing: The maharajah's heir frowned," You wish for the truth?" " Yes," Will set the ruby on the parapet," One more step and it goes over." " Fine!" Spat the maharajah's heir," Monsieur Delacour told me not to expect good manners out of you slimy street filth! My great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather was a favourite of Queen Antoinette herself. Those dirty Brits had taken over all of India. They scorned our religions. They hurt our people especially the sepoys. My ancestor was crazy for the queen. He offered her a beautiful star-cut ruby and a trade of opium but the British thought that deceitful and in the dead of night they killed the maharajah and the ruby was lost to the Labret family getting passed down through the generations even though it rightfully belongs to me. The opium was also lost. The ship that carried it was called the Lavinia and the sepoys destroyed it. That is the truth. Hand it over boy." " This ruby," said Will slowly," Has brought nothing but death, murder, and unhappiness. I don't want it at all but if you want it you can go and get it." And he threw the ruby over the parapet. There was silence and then the heir went mad. He thrust himself forward babbling incoherently and in horror Will watched as the old man tottered over the edge of the rampart and fell. Hands over his ears Will never heard the splash and he fell to his knees in the muddy gutter. A warm slender arm wove around his shoulder and he looked up to see Gabrielle and Ingra. " The ruby is gone," said Ingra wistfully," I would've really liked to see the maharajah's expression when you demanded the truth but the secrets of Agrapur can keep to themselves. Come on William. Come now Gabrielle. We've got to find Etienne. Then I shall go to my lawyer and smooth over the incident with the Queen's Ruby and the missing heir of the maharajah."
That's it so far so can you tell me how you like it? Thank you very very very very very very very much Guesty! I think Cornelia Funke's website is wonderful and I really don't have any criticism except for this...can you please put out more about the Thief Lord? Grazie. I know there won't be a sequel because that would crease the magic of the characters so I'll just have to imagine for myself what happened to Barbarossa at his new school, Hornet and Prosper, and of course Scip and Victor. D'you know that I was listening to the book on tape in Venezia and I heard them say Scipio with the Sh sound but in the movie they say it with the Sk sound. How is it meant to be? How do you prefer it? Goodbye.
The Thief Lord=)

*** Hi Thief Lord, first of all, I really like your story :- )
Wow, so many questions. Here are my answers:
I'm just reading a book about wolves (wolves are my favorite animals). And yes! I like movies! Some of my favorites are "Ghost Dog", "LA Crash", "Roman Holiday", "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Barefoot in the Park", "Kammerflimmern", "Kleine Haie" (German movies), "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Master and Commander", ..........
As for Scipio, the correct pronunciation is SHIPIO.

Hi Guesty!
Right now I am in the midst of writing a new book about two children from England orphaned at eleven and five who journey to Paris away from the orphanage and all their miseries. Here they find four other kids called Hugo, Tony, Gabrielle, and Charmont who are in similar situations and result in bargaining with jewels and precious valuables at the Thieves' Market with a despicable old thief called Delacour who has a small shop near the Red Lion Inn. They learn of a ruby beyond normal value called the Queen's Ruby once belonging to Queen Antoinette paid for with an enormous opium import that was marred with wicked lies and murder. They would be paid twelve million louis to find the ruby and give it to a person who claims rightful ownership to it. This man is the last descendant of the powerful maharajah of India who originally gave it to Marie Antoinette during the opium scandal. Charmont the ringmaster of the little gang of orphans finds out that a lady called Ingra Labret is in possession of the ruby and he plots to steal it for their incredibly wealthy client. Ingra finds out their plan by talking to James the youngest of the group and he tells her about the plan to steal the Queen's Ruby. Ingra, Charmont, James, Will, Gabrielle, Hugo, and Tony go to the Seine Bridge one night to meet the maharajah's heir with the ruby. They tell him that they no longer care about the money and they only want the truth behind the Opium Mutiny. He tells them the truth about the twisted betrayals of the maharajah and the queen and Will tosses the ruby over the parapet saying it's brought nothing but sadness and death. The heir goes mad and leaps in after it drowning to his death. I haven't figured out how it should end though. Do you think stories are better with children or adults as the protagonists? I think children are more funny, love to laugh, and bring more light onto subjects in stories. I still canno wait until Inkheart comes out. And Inkdeath for that matter. Please write back! I hope you had a very good holiday Guesty and that you go on a nice summer holiday as well (maybe to Liguria or Venezia.)
Goodbye.

I was wondering as to what Cornelia's publishing story was. Did she receive a lot of rejections? Was Inkheart published right away?

Thanks!

While the guestbook was down:

I took a week off from writing so that i wouldnt explode... and now im taking the rest of the school year semi-off because i want to enjoy it. (only writing on the bus) I'm horrified that my laptop will be taken away in less than 2 weeks (at which point ill back everything up twice, even thrice...) I also started rounding up signatures for the creation of a publishing company! Ill explain...

I want to get my book published... all authors do, but i had this idea that it would be heaps easyer if my school was a publisher. and the school would make money too... The catch is that i need lots of support... about 9/10 ppl that ive asked to sign have, and i have around 200 signatures of people who support the idea. 40 of which are teachers. Basically, if it goes through, grade 10 and 11 will be even sweeter. There is one flaw though... the laptops, the wonderful writing tools that let me make novels, are also extremely expensive... and the school is in dept of over 5 million... i figure they can afford a bit more for a bit... besides, a publisher would pay for itself eventually...

Well You can bet that i'll have more to say on monday, after Insa releases the hoards of messages from all the eager people awaiting the guestbooks return (it was an interesting 13 days...)

By for now

@Everyone: Has anyone seen the animated Treasure Planet movie? I'm in love with it. And I didnt know it was based on a book until recently. I really want to read it.
There are so many books I want right now but I either cant find them or afford them. OH, I totally want to recamend (cant spell) a book called The Book of Dead Days. It was amazing. Its kind of dark and sinister but the writer is great and I found out the name of the sequel yesterday. Its The Dark Flight Down. I have to find it soon. But if you are into dark, sinister suspense read these.=) (Want a summary, let me know.)
YYYYYAAAAAYYYY!!!!! Last day for the End of Coarse Tests. I have two weeks of school left. When does summer start in Europe?

Just a quick question...
Is there anybody from ENGLAND in here??

And Insa, is there a special reason we have to put our email addresses? I mean, is there something we get because we put it there? (I don't know if you've noticed, but with my email address, I'm not kidding when it says "idon'thaveone"!

*** No, Maeve, you don't HAVE to put your email address. It's just an option, for example, if someone does not want to have his/her question posted here in the guestbook, but would like to get an answer. ***

Here I am in the Atherton, and let me tell you it's very, very unstable. This whole world is collapsing in on itself! (read this book guys, it's very interesting! "Atherton: House of Power) Everything's a little tense between the peoples of the Highlands and Tabletop, as you can imagine.

Hey dreamweaver! That is a very good quote! Thanx!

Angie O'Brien (hey, we got the same name (my name's not really Maeve)) One of the stories I'm writing- AND DON'T ANYBODY DARE COPY OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!!!!!- is about this kid named... let's say it's Joe, but his name is virtue (just gotta think of the exact right one). When he was born, he was about to die, and so his mother used a spell to call down a dragon who saved his life, with one catch: Joe has to find him and prove his name before he turns seventeen or he'll die. So he sets off some time later, and he meets other kids doing the same thing, and all their names are virtues, like him. Anyway, that's all I'm gonna say, cause when it comes to my stories, I'm paranoid. But yeah... that's one story. AND I'LL KNOW IF YOU COPY ME!!!!!! (sorry, I really am paranoid! I don't even like it when people watch me write stories. Just plain weird, I guess!)

Brady's baby-
I know what you mean. Ever since I saw Lord of the Rings, I can't really get the same picture of them I had before. UNLESS I start really getting into the book (y'know, like when you're so deeply immersed, you don't hear anyone talking till they're screaming in your ear). I actually am really excited about the Inkheart movie, because I know my versions of the characters so well, I know I won't forget them. Besides, the movie is like a different story, because it's not the same as the book. I know in my mind, Meggie has dark curly hair, Farid looks like the little boy at the beginning of the Little Princess movie, and Resa looks like Belle (Beauty and the Beast) but with blonde hair. Everyone has their own ideas, even directors. In Lord of the Rings, I thought Helm's Deep was on a hill, not in a valley, just cause I was reading too fast, and I always think of Artemis Fowl with curly blonde hair, even though it's jet black. It's just the way of the world, I guess!

Black hood: Thanks for the words of encouragement! I've got serious writer's block right now, with a story I WANTED to finish a long, long time ago. Like last summer. (And I'm only on chapter three!)

Yours Truly,
Maeve

@dreamweaver:
Good Quote. That is inspirational... a lot deeper than when I say to keep the dream alive... I see the light at the end of the tunnel now (the tunnel being my book) and I'm making my way towards it, slowly but surely, and I'm slightly wrried when I write too fast that I'm leaving out important bits... (I know I always say not to edit, but a huge part in the previous chapter i forgot to add in, and a really important part for the storyline to work and have a nice constant (but natural) buildup of suspense.

@everyone:

At the moment my fingers are clumsy and feal like they're made of led, so I keep haveing to press backspace... Oh god and I'm supposed to be playing guitar... it would be a lot more fun if I didn't have school... I just dont feel like playing at home after a long day... If my guitar was at school id play for sure a lot...

I've officially been writng in the same spot, every recess for 2 weeks... i maybe wrote 2000 words in that time frame... I'm getting slightly annoyed by the fact that I'm constantly wanting to eat with my friends instead of disciplining myself to eat by myself while I "write"... I think I'll take next week off... Yes... I will take next week off, otherwise I'll burn out and be annoyingly blocked forever... I hate to make excuses to not write, but since january i've been sitting at that stupid table that I'm beggining to loathe the place... My head is getting seriously tired too... I've noticed that just reading a small chapter in a fairly easy book makes me exhausted... playing sports is getting to be a lot less tireing than reading or writing (usually sports are the only thing that can ever tire me out.) Ok... forget next week; ill explode by then. I hereby declare that tomorow and the week later I won't write anything fictional (unless school related.)

I read spomewhere that 25% of your energy is used by your brain. I have a fealing that I use way more. well for some reason my jaw feels clenched as If I'm incredibly stressde out... Ok

Advice to writers: breaks are important... do NOT go more than a week straight writing. I'ts very unhealthy for you (as I've just discovered) and it will save a ton of very bad stress to avoid it.

Ok heres by lecture of the day... I don't think I'll survive Math because it involves too much concentration, so I think I'll bring some paper and draw something abstract and random... I hate to use this place to "vent", but it really helps when I put my everyday problems into writing. I can solve anything easyer when I write it down.

By the way, my presentation of the ear turned out good. Now I don't have to wear a paper bag over my head and change my name... lol some of the clips were a bit embarasing, but luckyly one of my friends is amazing when it comes to makeing movies and made it actually seem really funny.

OK, my lecture for today, don't let yourself burn out and take breaks, and there's always some good in a seamingly bad situation (and vice versa)

@ all writers:
Take breaks! No, i dont mean like write an hour then do something else. I mean like at the times when you usually are writing you might want to go out of te routine once and a while... I said to myself that I would take a break this lunch, but I didn't have the willpower too... I am officially a writing addict. i suppose there are worse things to be addicted to, but still...

OK now I'll shut up, because I'm going to collaps if I don't

Bye

hi
@everyone: did this in english please read i found it very moving. i know it talks about america but it should be about the whole world.

You must never stop dreaming. Face reality, yes, but don't stop with the way things are. Dream of things as they ought to be. Dream. Face pain, but love, hope, faith and dreams will help you rise above the pain. Use hope and imagination as weapons of survival and progress, but you keep on dreaming, young America. Dream of peace. Peace is rational and reasonable. War is irrationable [sic] in this age, and unwinnable.Dream of teachers who teach for life and not for a living. Dream of doctors who are concerned more about public health than private wealth. Dream of lawyers more concerned about justice than a judgeship.never surrender to malnutrition. We must never surrender to illiteracy. Invest in our children. Never surrender; and go forward. We must never surrender to inequality. Why I cannot challenge you this way? "Jesse Jackson, you don't understand my situation. You be on television. You don't understand. I see you with the big people. You don't understand my situation."I understand. You see me on TV, but you don't know the me that makes me, me. have a story. I wasn't always on television. Writers were not always outside my door. When I was born late one afternoon, October 8th, in Greenville, South Carolina, no writers asked my mother her name. Nobody chose to write down our address. I understand. I know abandonment, and people being mean to you, and saying you're nothing and nobody and can never be anything. I understand when nobody knows your name. I understand when you have no name. I understand. I understand work. I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I had a shovel programmed for my hand. I was born in the slum, but the slum was not born in me. And it wasn't born in you, and you can make it. Wherever you are tonight, you can make it. Hold your head high; stick your chest out. You can make it. It gets dark sometimes, but the morning comes. Don't you surrender! Keep hope alive. Keep hope alive! Keep hope alive! On tomorrow night and beyond, keep hope alive!

soz it's very long but it was very good

Slugish morning everyone.

@ Angie O'Brien: Your right, some movies havent completely destroyed books but to me the book is the movie already. I can picture everything in my head ( if the author describes things well.) Every time I think about a book I have read I see it as a movie. I even get movies and books mixed up.
Thats really cool that Cornelia is the co-producer and she has a say in it. And I would like to know that tip your talking about. What kind of books do you write? I'll tell you about mine later, I have to go.

@ Jessies Baby: I know your just helping and I will have a good day at school.( I plan to sleep in first period =)) I love you too. I dont think I'll see Jaz today. Anyways I love you. Bye-bye. MWAH!

Hello everyone! Today I made the wheel of missfortune, and yesterday the sign for the Renzo Aldridge show. The Renzo Aldridge Show is a variety show, and includes various series of sketches (short plays) by me, my sister, and whoever else is around the house that day... The story goes that I introduce my show, then I accidentally kill a member of the audiance... while im running from the cops, the clip of the british derby is playing, then it stops and I tell the audiance how I have to go to court, but at the court, I'm going to film it so im going to play both the judge, and myself, the host of the show... then I'll sentence myself to a part time job at the local All Mart, and I haven gotten any further than that.

I wish i had hi speed to webcast it...

anyway, tomorow I cant film the show anyway because itl be raining, so itl have to wait...

Thats my nonsense for the day, bye

Hello all! I haven't talked to so many of you in a long while! scanning the entries, i see that there are some new posters (unless you've just changed your name) and some old friends as well.

AlEx: WHAT IS UP!?! I have not talked to you in what seems like months!! Hey, I'm sorry I never got to post my bit of the guestbook story. I guess it just sort of died? Did anyone every continue it? If so, i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to read what you guys have come up with!! So, what's new with you? Anything exciting?

HoRsEfReAk: Same questions: what's been happening? God, I feel sooooooo out of the loop right now, not having been here in ages!!!

BrAdY's BaBy: Unfortunately, I tend to disagree with you as well as agree. Movies often enhance the book, make the whole world "come to life" (ah, kind of a bad pun, but bear with me.) Don't judge every movie/book with the same closeminded opinion. Like, with the first couple of Harry Potter movies, they got them down pretty good. I can't speak for the later ones, but still. Anyways, watching a possibly sucky movie rendition will always make you appreciate the book more, and the work writers go through to get the story just right. And, I don't think the Inkheart movie is going to stray too much from the book at all because Cornelia is the co-producer and has some leeway with the script and what not. :-) Also, if you want help with description and whatnot, tell me. There's this really good method specifically for fiction description that I could share with you.

ALL: Speaking of, I'm reading a lot of comments about writing and stories. If anyone wants to drop a line about what their's is about, I'd be interested, and I could tell you what mine was about. Don't worry, I'm not a lurker (ha ha, ella, if you're still on here, I haven't forgotten that. darn, who else was it that was in on that? it was you, me, alex, horsefreak......i can think of her, she had a cat....and the cat would sometimes type on the computer......GREYPAW!! I think. If greypaw is still on here say hi!)

InSa: I simply have a question, and it's actually embarrassing to ask, because I myself and countless others have asked it, and I have read the response over a thousand times, but i just cannot remember. okay, here it goes. When is Inkdeath set to come out? (ahhhh. cringing with the embarassment of it all) I think you said 2009, but i can't remember, and my friend was nagging at me to find our this morning.

That's all for now! I'll see if I can get a word in tomorrow during Marketing Class (if the internet at school still isn't down) If not, then after school it is!!

Nothing has happened lately and I don't think anything interesting is about to. I'm afraid I still have some homework to do before tomorrow(that means I have to do it tonight, yuck!) it's english, and though it is not very difficult I still think it is a pain to do. But luckliy, everyone, school will be ending at the end of the month, yippeee! Maybe I can finish my book over the summer, maybe, underline maybe because I'm not sure if I can because of all the ideas that are coming at me at the same time, nt makes me want to pull my hair out when I can't get to sleep at night because of an idea that won't stop pestering me.

Good morning Everyone!

@Jessie's baby: You're such a dork! And you always correct my typing! Have a look at your own. =) <3 hehe. I love you too. Talk to you around 5-ish. Mwah!

@ Insa or anyone who cares: No improvement on my story. This is the first time I have been scared to write b/c I think i will mess everything up. Now instead of writing 4 pages a day I write about 2 or 3 paragraphs a day. (so slow)

@everyone: So most of you are happy about them making a movie of Inkheart? I'm not. Infact I was outraged! When a book becomes a movie you no longer see the caracters your own way, you only see the actors. And they always leave stuff out or change things around. My sister read Eragon, then watched the movie and was realy p/o. She said they got everything wrong. And the movie A Series of Unfortunate Events is based on books 1-3, which I've read. They left out too much stuff and changed alot of things. I was yelling at the T.V. NO LIE. So I'm avoiding the Inkheart movie. I feel like all the people who havent read the book but will go see the movie will be cheated of all the great things that Cornelia stuffed into the book. =(

Anyways, I'm gonna go to Art in a minute. Bye you guys.

hello everyone, I'm at school, its lunch time, and according to the sign i put in front of my laptop, I'm writing my novel (obviously not at the moment (I'm too obsessed with writing here))

I'm currently at page 177 and around 44 000 words. The inspiration was flowing, until I noticed that my airport was on and had internet and I decided to go here. (Stupid Airport)

@ The Dreamweaver:
When do you write? Do you have any long bus rides to write or anything? Btw congrats on having written those pages... double sided? Small writing?

@Maeve:
Yes... the Canadiens lost.... stupid stupid Flyers.
Artemis Fowl is a great book, inspired me along with Inkheart... can't wait for 6th book (It's coming out in January...
Just keep the dream and you will get that million dollars and authorship... maybe not the million dollars, but at least the authorship.

@everyone:
I will be leaving now, because I'm supposed to be writing (my modified body clock (modified for writing) is telling me to write now because I like to write now (even though I usually get distracted by my friends and the sometimes less good songs on the school radio... hey my spot isn't perfect, but I like it..))

And I don't know if you know this but if you go onto Google images and put in Inkheart Movie it brings up pics of the people in full costume as their characters. And they have a pic of the guy Rafi Gavron (who plays Farid) in the full costume and he doesn't look like I imagined. But whatever.

@anyone, I am so going to try out for the part of Brianna if they make the movie Inkspell cause I would love to play her part. I think I say that every time but who cares. OMG! I just read my friends Fan-fiction for Maximum Ride and it's so good. It's kind of a take off of a rated M fan-fiction but it's still great. You people should read it. If you are on the internet one day put in *** (sorry, we do not refer to other websites here in the guestbook ***) and go to books then pick any book and read some of the fan fictions. They are so funny sometimes. I have read practically all the Inkheart fan fictions, and if your interested in reading my friends go to the Maximum Ride fan fictions and look for The Experiment by CAPTAIN BOEatyourservice. It's good, and if you want to read the one it came off of a bit read Forced Evolution by MaximumFangness under the Rated M catagory. There both great, but if you can't stand any kind of sexual content then don't read Forced Evolution. But if you want to read it anyway watch out when it says (LEMONS) cause it might gross out some people what Lemons means. Anyhu....... I am also wrighting some fan-fictions but they aren't posted yet. Also I came up with a name for my book. It's called, THE PYRIAMA PENTACLE. Pyriama means (in my own terms) any 8 sided pentacle. Now this is the name of my first book so don't flame me for a weird name. On the subject of weird people think I am totally bonkers cause I talk in a British accent and I have never even been to the UK. Plus people think I am weird cause I read the Ancient Egyptian Book of The Dead, which is just a book of spells to protect the dead in the afterlife. If any of you have seen The Mummy movies it has a referance to the book of the dead and that's what bring the dead guy back to life. Funny how I'm talking about that movie since it has Brendan Fraser in it and he plays Mo in the Inkheart movie. Creepy. Since I'm on a blog about Cornelia Funke and she of course wrote Inkheart. Well I'm out of things to talk about. So Bye.

Hey everyone!
@ Anna R.: I wrote the beginings of a few stories a while back and never finshed them. But when I moved I had nothing to do and I came across my old stories and got inspired. After I finished a few, new story ideas where coming to me. But you have to do one at a time or else you'll "overload" . I have to pace myself or my writing gets alittle sloppy.
@ anyone: I'm sooooo tired. I dont want to be at school! ITS MONDAY! Who likes Mondays? ( NOT ME!) Summer is in three weeks. Oh, and Happy Cinco De Mayo! I'm not spanish but I'm in a spanish class and we are celebrating that today. NOOOOOO, the dreaded first period. G2G. Bye.

I'm new here but I love all of Cornelia's books. I have read all of her English books that I have come across. I love them all but so far my favorite has been Inkspell. Though I am waiting to read Inkdeath. I think I like Inkspell the best because it has more romance than the others because my favorite types of books are often adventure/romance books kind of like Eragon. I love all of Cornelia's books and can not wait till more come out.

Hello everyone! I made jello today, and the day before that, and the day before that... I like jello lol.

I also created the British Derby today (and completely forgot to put on my british accent) (a temporary subshow of the Jon Show). It was raining today, so I couldnt make the sub shows that i wanted. Anyway, the Dunestar Extreme beat the SVAR Car, and Alex Dunestar won a bottle of laundry detergent, only to give it to her maid. Using intense editing, I gave the whole thing the feel of a TV show. The only thing missing is the lights and the stage... I wish I could use my school's auditorium. Oh, I know, I'll use my front porch, and lights arent a problem there... Now all I have to do is nag the phone company for high speed.

Tomorow will probably be bad. because I have to do a presentation on the ear, and it includes a video featuring me. (I hope the pojector breaks) an embarasing video that I didnt make. I really hope the ones presenting the sense of touch have something amazing to detract attention

Anyway, bye (I might change the name of the show to the Renzo Show, and take on the name Renzo Aldridge for the entire show. I like taking that pseudonym when I dont want to say my real name, it's one I can act out well.)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! My not too long (but too long according to everyone else) locks of orange hair are gone!!! (Yesterday was hell) I hate haircuts... I look horrible with short hair, that's why I keep it a bit shorter than shoulder length... but some people think that a little is 3 inches of hair... I say take off a little, and I look bald after!!! (compared to before) now I hate fretting about something like hair, it will grow back, but I liked being a rocker!!! I better get a summer job!!!
(My fret for the day is over)

OK, now that my crisis is temporaraly over (untill I look in the miror and realise that there hair that was not quite shoulder length is gone), i'll start talking about something else, like my new tv show (that doesnt exist yet)

I'm planning on stating a TV show, called... Ok I don't have a name...yet. (I will tomorow probably.) It won't actually be on TV, but it might be a webcast... (that is if the good for nothing internet company runs high speed to my house. (the high speed companies keep sending us these idiotic advertisements in the mail, and theyve been doing it for years... of course i cant get high speed because it isnt available... but all the money theyve wasted sending adds they could have ran a high speed thing...) (Stupid internet companies... have all this information at their fingertips and they're still dense... )

Anyway, my TV show thing is going to be some really random thing. (picture the Amanda show, Drake and Josh, or iCarly on a super low budget.) For those who don't know, the Amanda show was a professional show (that was made to look amateur) (I dont think it airs anymore) that was about a girl named Amanda, and her Show.
Basically, she and a cast of less than 10 ppl dressed up and did all sorts of plays and improvised looking drama stuff. The costumes ALWAYS had flaws so that you could see it was fake... it also had a lot of little sub shows and the like in it... basically the randomest show ever, by far the most fun to act, and seamingly insanely low budget. Basically, a closet full of random old clothes and a house full of everything is enough supplies to run this kind of show.

My show is similar (not much choice due to lack of monetary resources) but it'll be different... (due to lack of human resources) Basically I can count on having 2 ppl minimum plus one cameraman (that's all the time) I can count on some special guests, but that's not going to make up for the lack of regulars.
Anyway, tomorow me and my sister and one of her friends will be planning some of our subshows, and well be filming some as well...

@the dreamweaver: I sure wish I could think later! I'm writing slower and slower, but I think the clue is to realise it... once I write for a while it goes fast, I just lose the mood if it's been a few hours. I think I think too much though... It should be better by next week some time...

Anyway I'll be off, Canadiens are playing, but if they dont win, they cant get the cup :-s

Dear Cornelia,
I have a question I'd like yo to answer. But first I'd like to say I LOVE all your books, so much I acrry Inkspell everywhere. But back to my question, why do you only want to end the Inktriology ?( did I spell that right? )There are alot of fans who also love your books, so why do you want to end it? It's a brilliant series, so why end it? I'm just very curious, please reply back!

@Insa: Ok, quick random question: if you could be any person, from any book, live out their life, their challenges, everything, who and why??

@Maeve:
1) What sports do you like to play? Baseball on occation, but none really
2) What sports do you like to watch? Football, the American kind
3) Who is your favorite superhero? Batman, because he is just normal and uses gadgets. he isn't an alien or mutant, though those aren't bad either
4) Do you know what defenestration is? Nope actually, never heard it
5) What was your favorite movie when you were little? It's a tie between Veggie Tales and The Power Ranger's first one

@Other Writers: how many of you start stuff you never get to finish?? I have like 20 stories (no lie) that are half way done, any that is just off the top of my head!

May you please explain what sats is? I don't think it exists where i am (or it has a different name)

@fee: I've been writing for about a year and a half now, but I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. But the unfinished fanfic I made put me years before my time... my character redevelopment need a bit of word still, but its not too bad...

Hi everyone!
Pretty soon I am going to get my own e-mail address, but before I get one I have to come up withe a good name for it. Maybe I'll include the name of someone famous that we all know and love. I don't know, I have to get my mom's approval first, because I don't really know how to go about getting an e-mail address of my own, I am at her mercy so to speak.
Now that that is behind us, I can write about more interesting things like that fact that I am rapidly approaching the deadline that I set for myself on finishing my first novel. The deadline is this fall/winter, but I can give myself extra time if I have to. I shall try not to strain my eyes in the process of staring at my computer screen in the meantime, and I hope no one reading this does either.

@the Black Hood
Your pictures are good. I don't think that I coul draw something like this. The only thing I'm really good at is drawing weapons. Actually I never heard from the book The Outsiders, probably it has a completely different name here in Germany. Well, my story already has over 200 pages and I think when I'm finished it will be at least about 400, but maybe I get even more than that. And everyone who ever read the story allways says that it is very good, but I don't really think so... How long do you write and draw now? I write since I learned writing. I learned it when I was six so now it should be .... I think .... right, it's seven years ago now. And I really draw for about two or three years now. Before that I just put anything to paper and it loode horrible.

@the Dreamweaver
Real humans I can't draw either. But it's difficult I think... And I really would be happy if I could draw ears or creatures like dragons. I finished a sword for the main character in my story just some time ago. It's the first sword which I've drawn with some kind of plan in my head and I think it looks good. When I'm finished with all the drawings for my main character I'll scan them, I think...

Hey guys...and gals.... I visit this site for news but never post.... anyhoo I was dissapointed with the trailer... It looks like the scriptwriters will butcher this movie like they have (I use that generally) many many times with many books-made-movies. It seems meggies mother won't be in it and the Special effects will be cheezy too. WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR A MOVIE TO BE MADE EXACTLY LIKE THE BOOK!!!!!

I know there is runtime problems...but at least they can keep the plotline the same and not cut out the fact that the book is written BECAUSE meggie's mom dissapeared into the book and Capricorn came out.... and why would Mo even care about the book if Resa isn't even in it??

I hope that the movie won't be buchering the book as the trailer suggests....and I was sooooo looking forward to a movie that will put me in inkworld and make me feel like I am there....not just looking through a window....like Eragon movie....was butchered to the point that you couldn't really recognize it came from the book! cheap cheap cheap....didn't look real at all, cheezy plot and lines....etc
All I want is for this movie to do justice to the book it was made about...

*** Don't worry, Resa WILL be in the movie. ***
