Dear Folks,
now that Christmas and New Year's Eve are again just around the corner, you may ask what Guesty is planning to do this year.
Well, actually he wanted to do ... nothing. Just lazing around, watching kitschy X-mas movies and stuffing himself with gingerbread and cinnamon cookies.
But yesterday we got an urgent letter from Rudolph (maybe you remember that last year Guesty celebrated Christmas with the red-nosed reindeer, and he even was allowed to help pulling the sledge).
To cut a long story short, Rudolph is down with the flu, got it from his reindeer chum Donner, and his red nose just won't stop running. That's why Guesty will have to be running - to Lapland - to pull the sledge, you know? Otherwise there won't be presents this year :- (
So, on Tuesday Guesty will pack his bags to head for the icy North. This little bulky book ... always involved in adventures. Me, on the other hand, I'll spent the holidays with my family as usual - but for sure this will be nice as well :- )
And Guesty has promised to throw down snow and nuts and chocolate gingerbread men for us when flying above our heads on Christmas Eve. Don't you promise too much, little bulky book! I'm sure you will eat all that sweet stuff yourself ;- )
Anyway, we wish you a cosy Christmas time and a beautiful, dazzling new year 2009! We'll be back for you on 7 January. Take care and don't you drink too much eggnog :- D
Insa :- ) and Guesty :o )

hi everyone
live is mad at the moment school home live sats revision i can't wait for this next week to be over then i can relax.
@TH BLACK HOOD: thanx i've finally got a new idea. your suggestion really helped. i also found a poem called writers block in the age of computers.
Cursor, Cursor, blinking Cursor
Shade of iridescent green
Cursor in the "Home "Position
On my new Computer Screen
Cursor at the starting gate
Chomping at the bit and byte
Pawing at the screen, impatient
Nagging me to start to write
Cursor poised for the race
In Position One, Line One
Waiting for a brilliant word
To set off the starting gun
Until now a plain old scribbler
Was the only thing I'd use
On it I would draw and doodle
While I waited for the muse
Now I have a winking cursor
Mocking me in brilliant green
have you ever tried to doodle
On a blank computer screen?
Nagging Cursor, cursed cursor
Blinking on without a sound
Go away until I'm ready
I'll never write with you around
it made me laugh. my idea is of a girl who has commited murder by pushing someone out of a window and how she walks through this mysterious door in to a new world and how she tries to make a new life but has to get judged in htis world for what she did in the last. it probably won't work out like that but hey. thanx anyway sats in 5 days aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh. you really helped.
@SAVREN: i have a crush on him too what i imagine him as probably won't be what he is meant to look like.
@FEE: my drawings aren't normal eaither they are pretty weird just something from my imagineation. i have a weird imagination.

Hello everyone! Today It snowed :-s and it actually stayed on the ground with actual accumulation! Global warming... Pfft... 29th of April: SNOW!!!
@The dreamweaver:
11 pages, 16 months... I think you have a serious case of OMS (Obcessive Muse Syndrome (reference to the Kill Muse Article on the writing site I suggested)) I do the same thing I bet, but probably less... OK, my entire story was made of nothingness. I had a simple Idea that it would be cool to be just me and my friends living self suficient in the woods... simple, no plot, but it didn't last. I built off of it, with no outline whatsoever, no character list, nothing! but that's not the point, the point is that writing and reading are essentially the same thing. With reading, you take the words out of the pages, and with writing, you put them in. But where do these words come from? Your imagination of course. Now, as much as you may picture in your head that this character will do this, and another character will do that, it doesnt always work. What you see of the character in your head is only the tip of the iceburg... it's like seing a catterpillar before it turns into a butterfly. The way you pictured it may seam perfect, but obviously it isn't (or maybe it is, and you just aren't aproaching the story the right way (maybe you need a new beggining)) I strongly believe that we writers have absolutely no control over what pops into our heads and what happens there, we are only there to solve our creation's problems, and as you may see this righeous main character at first, they might just emerge from that coccon one day a completely different person, one that cannot make your plot work...
Basicly I think you're too closed to change. Just write something, If you cant decide which path is best for your book, or you keep wanting to cram in all your ideas at once, just pick a path for things that you think will be more fun to write about, and don't fret about what could have happened if you did it the other way (you'll have future fans writing fanfics for that) and seing as this is only the beggining of your intrepid carrer as a writer, it's best not to use up all the ideas in one shot... It's like dominos (pretend the dominos are ideas), once one falls, the others fall easily, so there's absolutely no point in toppling all your dominos at once.
I guarantee that once you start writing again, the whole thing will be nothing like you planned. If it is, you have a truly stunning memory to remember an entire complete story in your head before writing it. Like Cornelia says, "If someone tells you something has to be done a certain way, dont believe them" But I think you're telling yourself how your book has to be written.
Basically, be adventurous with your writing, and remember that what you're writing now will be edited later, so there's absolutely no point in getting it right on the first try, because it wont be anyway.
Ok, there's my little elixir of inspiration for the day. Oh and one more thing, don't think! This may sound a bit stupid but it's true... don't just think it, write it! You canthink a little bit, but you should write more than you think (think about your story when your somewhere where you can't write it anyway) I think I wrote the vast majority of this whole post without thinking, or rather these are my exact thoughts, only typed onto the screen.
One last thing though. What your writing now may never turn into a book. I was lucky and started writing a fanfic before... it was very bad, so i started over. Then I go to about 15000 words and got the idea of the kids living in the woods and just started it. So I was very lucky to have a 15000 word head start in experiance... maybe a fanfic could help you start out too?
I'm going to have supper now, bye |

@The Dreamweaver:
Write anyway! Write lots! no matter what you write it doesn't matter as long as it's creative! Start another project? I don't know, anything thats creative. Kill the block! Don't let it kill you! I'd say be aggressive with your writing. If you're stuck somewhere then don't keep fiddling for the perfect words, because they wont come if you do. Remember, you can edit once you're done anyway, and anything you write now will seam like trash to you in a few months because you'll be a better writer then than a month ago. I read back on the stuff I wrote months ago and right away I have to edit.
Good luck... |

Ok first off, @Maeve: The Redwings will NOT get the cup, because it's The Canadiens that will...
1)Hockey (Although I lack practice) I like to cross country, but I've grown out of my boots.
2)Hockey, (especially near the end of the season)
3) Storm, on Xmen (I think that's her name)
4)"Hello Mr Williams, the boss would like to see you" said the secretary.
"Sure Sally, He's on the 2nd floor right?"
"No, he moved his office to the 84th a week ago."
"Oh." Said Mr Williams as he made his way to the elevator.
Once he arrived at the top, he met "The boss" Fat Tony.
"You may sit Mr Williams," said the boss. "I have good news and bad news, You're fired."
Mr Williams was in shock, but finally managed to let out a little "and the good news?"
"Oh, that was the good news."
"Then what's the bad news?" he asked, having regained the better part of his composure.
"The bad news is that I will have to defenestrate you."
"What does defenestrate mean?" he asked nervously.
"I'll show you. Now could you come here, yes right there, By the window" .........
5)My favorite movie when I was little was Toy story, or The Lion King, Or the Jungle book, (I can never decide.
@fee:
I don't think my people drawings are exactly normal either. It's about the same as yours, a cross between real and manga... Oddly, most of my best drawings are made when I draw randomly. I am now annoyed at my literary agent that doesn't quite know yet that she's a literary agent. Apparently you're supposed to wait about a month or so after having finished a book before editing it. And she said I can't write the sequel to it either in the meantime... but I WANT to write the sequel to it once I'm done! I'll get bored not writing anything!!! I think I'll just do it anyway, or no, nvm, I'll just finish my Artemis fowl / Inkheart Fanfic. Did you know that the book The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton is only 180 pages long? and this is with about the same amount of words per page as in my book, Runnaway Children. (There is a reason for the 2 N's) My book is now at page 170 with more to come, although I know it's quality not quantity, it's good to know that another author was successful without a huge amount of pages. She was 15-16 when she wrote the book too, and it was her first, so to all the young authors out there, even if a story is your fist, it can still be insanely good.
By the way, If you want to see a bit of how I draw, there's some in the fan art section under the name Jonathan Lahue. I have 2 or 3 dragons in there, and a fox, but the style of it is noticeably different from the rest. first of all, it's all in color, and just the shading and everything else is unique. That should give you a bit of an idea how I draw people, just picture one of yours in Black Hood Style.
@ everyone:
Is it just me, or is there a lot of writers here?
it's great...(at home portion follows)... I wish I would have started writing earlier... I always imagine what it would be like to be in a coma... but I sometimes think that maybe my entire life is a dream, and that I'm actually some little 2 year old that's been in a coma for about a year, but all he can remember is the dream in the coma. So then I'd be trapped in this little toddler body and everyone in my dream would be real, and the same age as when I left my dream... then I'd have to freak out my friends by knowing all their names and everything about them, (but the worst part is that they'd never have met me) and then I'd keep fretting about the fact that my entire book in on the laptop that was in my dream. It would be kind of cool, even cooler if I found out that the real me still had the book, then I get adopted by the real Me's parents, and then....... Oh I think I'm getting carried away. I'd have my wish though, because I'd have started writing a whole 13 years earlier, and would easily be the youngest author ever... then I'd be able to skip a whole 10, almost 11 years of school, I'd just write my stories with the real me, seeing as we'd write the same thing anyway.
I'm really getting carried away here... I'll stop the random nonsense.
Is It just me, or are my posts insanely long? I pity you Insa for having to read them all. But then again, it might be kind of fun to have the job of reading every single post.
My story is now exploding. near literally. It all started with the character Montello Voskely, without whom the entire story would fall apart. He is one of the main characters, but will only be majorly important in the following books I will write. now behind him is a maze of secrets. Without him, the book will collapse, but he works behind the scenes. Just the addition of this one character is making a huge difference in the whole thing. I wish I could better explain the hugeness of the impact that this one character made, but I cant, it's just too big.
By the way, could anyone describe to me what they think Montello Voskelly looks like? I didn't describe him at all to you, so I'm curious to know what kind of pictures his name alone makes.
@Dustfinger: Congrats on starting a book, and good luck. I'm guessing that a trilogy would take 3 years at the very least. It depends... I've written 40 000 words in 6 months, but I don't think my first book will get any further than 60 000 by the way things are turning out in it. But If you plan on writing something big, It could take you a while. I'd say 6 months - a year minimum for the first draft probably. I think by the time I've edited everything, it will have been a year since I started it.
@ Everyone, again:
Writers like me write too much.
(This post is 1147 words long) (excluding this parenthesis and the following text.)
@The Dreamweaver:
Hello! Is your writers block cured yet? I'm just curious, because you never said it was actually gone... I think writing insanely long posts could help too though.
@ Everyone for the last time:
Thank you Insa for not putting a word limit!
I"m going to go now... I've written WAY too much... I don't want to have to go to rehab because I write too much... I wonder what the chances are that in grade 11 there'll be a novel writing class where you just write your novel all class, and get credits because writers are an asset to society?

Dear miss funke,
I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work in writing all your books. I am a big fan of your inkworld series and of the thief lord. I have a question for you about Meggie and Farid. In one of your interviews you said that in inkdeath there would be another boy. Does that influence Meggie and Farid's relationship? Also when Dustfinger comes back is that by Orpheus's help or is it someone and if so, who? I was also wondering when inkdeath comes out? I have heard it was somewhere in the spring of 2008 but I have been told otherwise. Anyway I myself love to write and I was very inspired by you. Thank you again.

Hello Ms. Funke,
I really loved your books and they inspired me to write my own. Your books take me to another world where everything can happen.
In Inkheart and Inkspell, my favourite charactor was Basta. I don't know why, but---
You described him so well I could see a clear picture in my mind.
I haven't read Dragon Rider but I am planning to as soon as I can.
Thank you for writing books that make me imagine.

well, sometimes i just begin to draw, without knowing what i actually want to draw, but usually it's nothing good what i have in the end. and elf ears i can draw, too. i don't know why, but somehow they're very easy... do you draw persons like in real life or more like something else? i usually draw them between real life and manga, looks sometimes a bit ... special ... but at least it's easier than drawing normal people. and when i draw the character of a story, i don't really know how he or she looks, only the colour of his or her eyes/hair/etc. well, when i write in class i allways have to copy it into my laptop at home, but i allways change everything again, so it actually makes no sense for me to write it in class. but i do it sometimes, just because i'm bored. or i draw. |

3) Who is your favorite superhero?
4) Do you know what defenestration is? (hey, I said I had writer's block!)
5) What was your favorite movie when you were little?
1) I like to play lacrosse (very fun) and I do cross-country.
2) Hockey rocks my socks off. And yours too.
3) Batman all the way!
4) Yes, I do know, and if you don't, look it up!
5) I loved the Lion King!! Still do, and Bug's Life besides!
Okay, that's it. Back to work for me. *sigh* no rest for the wicked, you know!

Rabbits are insane. Especialy my sister's little gray one. Today, I was suppose4d to be "babbysitting" my sister's rabbit, while my sister was getting water for it, so that she didn't have to take it out of it's cage. But the vile thing ran away from me and under the 4 wheeler (which is conveniantly located under mounds of junk). My sister came back then after a while she managed to convince her crazy rabbit to leave her hiding place... then she left again to get water for my rabit, (the little brown one that eats anything) but made the awful mistake to leave me to take care of her rabbit once more... once again it escaped, and went under the 4 wheeler once more. Then me and my sister were struggling to capture the waskewy wabbit, who somehow managed to find an aboveground tunnel going trough the mound of junk... as it turns out, this rabbit had found an entire network of little road things running through the heaps of junk. After a while, we ahd the wonderful idea of blocking the junk tunnels with more junk, and when the idiot creature finnaly decided that it was horribly uncomfortable under heaps of junk, it ran into the open, where I caught it and locked it in it's cage. (It's grounded) While all this was happening, for some unknown reason my rabbit was gnawing on a peice of wood as if it was a carrot... I'm beggining to wonder if these rabbits parents were abusive...
Now I'm beggining to understand why my parents don't want to buy a beagle...
Anyway, thats my mayhem for the day... I hope you all think twice before underestimating a ferocious rabbit. lol.

I have a question. Why is it that Inkheart the movie was supposed to be released on March 19,2008 and yet, it was pushed back all the way to January 30,2009?
*** One reason was the scriptwriters' strike in Hollywood. *** |

Hi Cornelia,
I think Inkheart is amazing; once I pick it up I can hardly bear to put it down again! My favourite characters are Meggie and Elinor; their storyline is really funny how they hate each other, but really have a soft spot!
Congratulations on your new film, which I will DEFINETLY see and buy. |

Hello, I had a really great day today... It was a regular school day too, but it was topped off by a nice convo with a teacher... I know, sounds incredibly corny, but so what... Anyway, just talking about my book and all that stuff, but it really helps when you get someone older than you encourage you, and they're actually really sincere and they dont just think you can get somewhere, they know it. What I did one day was ask all the teachers at my school if they knew any publishers, and I found one that she knew tons about the trade... I couldn't find a better description for a litterary agent than her. anyway, I'm still not done my first novel, but it's getting there i think... I even have 2 more books planned after that, as a trilogy. Then maybe I could add some more stories onto it eventually, I wouldn't make it a tottaly closed ending, my characters are too special to be able to live a "normal" life alongside sosciety.
@the dreamweaver:
Hello!
Sorry bout the site and all... just google fiction writing and try stuff though... I think my favorite subject is english... The teacher is great, funny, witty, it doesnt help that she's 23 either... She even reads my novel from time to time (she's supportive too, but in a "I have no idea how I can help" kind of way... but just having her read it and not point out mistakes helps) Art is relaxing, but I never have enough time to finish anything because I'm too much of a perfectionist.
I actually love to act... that's why I chose drama for next year... I'm not the best actor in the world (nor the worst either), but it's fun, and that's all that matters. I think I might be enterring a bit of writers block, but I cured it this afternoon by reading an artivle and talking about my writing to someone. have you read the golden compass trilogy?
@Insa:
Thanks for putting up the pics (by the way you're the first non art teacher to compliment it... a lot of people say that it's missing a body, but I WAS going to make one, but it turned out better this way.)
Dont worry, I get why you can't put up every site posted either... the one i tried to slip in was really good for authors and all, but if you let one in you have to let them all in, and it would kind of suck if the guestbook was just a bunch of people advertising their sites.
It's a bit odd to think that Cornelia lives in America, i think its because she writes in German. She's Obviously more comfortable in German (why else would she write in German) but wow! most people would live where their mother tongue is spoken most, but Cornelia is an exception. Maybe it's a writer thing, because I live in Quebec, Canada, where it's mostly French. I'm fluently bilingual, but I'm wittyer in english... I find the french language is so formal when you aren't tought proper slang.
I'll be gone now... I have to practice guitar... Bye

Hello people, I just got back onto reading the entries (sp?) and thanks Black Hood. I have a british accent so
I might just take your advise and fake it, and dreamweaver
you should also try out for Brianna cause if I can try out you sound like great compitions(sp?) Also I think if I have enough of what they need for Brianna I'll be just fine. I can't wait for Inkdeath. I practically burned down the house when I read that Dustfinger was coming back. The reason I use the name Dustfinger is because he is the best character in the Ink books and because he eat's fire, I understand why he won't let Farid start fire's on windy nights because if you do you can't control the flames and the wind will talk to the fire making it spit out at you and keep you from controling it. I have candles and torches lit all the time I even carry a box of matches and tend to play with the matches without even noticing what I'm doing. And no it's not just because I read he dose that when talking or just sitting, I actually do that out of my own habet before I even read the Ink books and before I started being called Dustfinger by everyone. Insa I was wondering if you think that Cornelia Funke will mind
if a 13 year old girl is using the name Dustfinger as her formal name, because I wouldn't want her to be mad or anything cause I love her books and I love the character Dustfinger that is the only reason I adopted the name?
Ever since telling my friends that I wanted try for the part of Brianna, Dustfinger's daughter they keep teasing about wanting to play the part of "my daughter" (cause my new formal name is Dustfinger) in the movie Inkspell. Should there be one. THERE BETTER BE!!! And then I get my friends(that have read the book) that I should try out for Roxane because I can sing and dance and I have fairly dark almost black. But I really like readishy colored hair the best.(I already had my hair red once)
But I convinced them otherwise since I am not of the right age and other little things I prefer not to think about (nothing peverted) and I don't like that part very much for ann acting part sooooo.
Hey does anyone have any Fan-Fic stories or accounts cause I have one and I have read pretty much all the Inkheart Meggie+Farid Fan-Fics so I need something to read on Fan-Fic. Also even though I do have an account on Fan-Fic I haven't written any stories yet cause I just signed up. I'm known as paperandfire. And it's the name of one of the chapters in Inkspell. See how obsessed I am. I also would advise anyone person on here that reads fan-fics to not read the M rated ones on Meggie and Farid or on the Maximum Ride fan-fics about Max and Fang. Some are to grose to imagine. Just a warning, you don't have to take my advise. Buuuut, it's not bad to a least take heed of what I just said.
Enough of this. I have exciting news. I am writing a book! Thanks to Cornelia Funke and her Inkworld Trilogy she inspired me to start the book I have been fiddeling over for years. And if it dose ever get published this is the first place I will allert because all of you are great reviewers and I would love feed back if some company decides to publish it. And I will write a little later to tell you the name when I find one. All I know right now is that it will be a trilogy called THE LOOGAROO TRILOGY
and what the name for first book and second and third books names will be different made up Pentacle names. It makes it easier to think up titles.
Well I have to go I have to practice for a historical/fiction/comedy play for advanced drama.
See Ya.

Here is my second part of the first chapter.
Dustfinger did not know how long he had been standing there with the horned marten, Gwin. He layed the now sleeping Gwin on the ground next to where he had layed before thier encounter with the wolves.
He soon fell asleep and dreamed of the girl, Roxane.
When morning came, it was still a bit chilly. He wrapped Gwin in a small blanket and slipped into his sandles. He was off to Ombra to ocupy prince Cosimo, the fair's son. He was the only strolind player aloud past the city gates. Even though Cosimo was a fair man, he never would allow eny strolling player through.
Dustfinger soon set off. On his trail, he came across a fairy. It was nesting season for the little creatures. When the Fairy yanked his shoulder-length hair, he had no choice but to cut off a lock.
In the meantime, Gwin was sitting on Dustfinger's shoulders looking around as if the wolves from the night before would start chasing him around again.
Now I'm stuck! :( Just like Meggie whenever she tried to wright a story! :p

It is a wonderful book. i loved reading them. i keep reading it over and over cause inkdeath isnt out yet. it was a great thriller to me. i was almost cheerful when i read that Basta died. Who plays as Basta in the new inkheart movie? Are you going to make another sequel to Inkdeath or is this the end? Oh i hope the book is ut soon. i love to read books. i first started reading the warrior cats series then i read inkheart and a dragon book from Chris d,lacy. Erin hunter,you and Chris D,Lacy are my fav authers! Please Make a sequel to Inkdeath and when is inkdeath coming out? and who plays Basta in the new movie? I found t odd in the little clip of the movie why Dustfinger was afraid of capricorn. Capricorn was small compared to him

Hello everyone... I'm going to make this quick because the Montreal Canadiens are up against the Philadelphya flyers tonight, and they are currently tied 2-2... it's now the break between second and third period.
@The dreamweaver:
Throught the fire and flames is by dragonforce... its metal.
As for writers block, I have a word document used especially for that. It consists of many random peices of nonsense I've created... What I do, is sometimes randomly create dialog with a character from one of my favorite books, or I invent a short story with no plot or goals or anything... the point is that you don't fret over what you write, you just keep writing, dont pay too much attention to mistakes... no one is going to read it, it's just for the sake of writing. I also sometimes go on (***sorry, on legal grounds we do not refer to other websites***), which has a ton or articles on everything writting (Including a million ways to conquer writers block) ... Try reading a really good book (preferably a new one that you've never read) I hope this helps...
@fee:
Hello, it's great that there's so many writers here...
I draw basicly anything... Usualy it has something to do with some lyrics of a song or at times I draw people from my stories... Most of the time I make a drawing, and it somehow makes its way into the story. I find that drawings I make from immagination are much better than the ones I try to make based on what I know one of my characters should look like.
Its a bit hard for me to write in class though... seing as it's on my laptop, and my whole school has laptops, which makes the teachers not want them open while they ramble on about everything.
French class is the best for that... I went to french school for a while, so it's all easy... so teacher can talk all class with me barely listening and my marks wont suffer a bit. Next drawing is going to be "On the wings of a dream" featuring the drawing of the black hood, on a dragon (Or flying book) (the black hood is one of my book characters... whose nickname I like)
Anyway bye for now... Phyladelphia made a goal just now :-( and the refs areent calling the penalties when they should. I'm a bit annoyed. Oh! Nvm! It's just turned 3-3 as I wrote!!!! GO HABS GO!!!!

Hello. I'm so close to the end of Inkspell. I just love the series so much, I have to stop, for the sake of finishing it and painfully having to wait for InkDeath to come out in libraries.
I was quite happy there was a movie coming out. I MUST BUY/GET IT! ILL HAVE TO STEAL IT FROM HOLLYWOOD VIDEO IF I HAVE TO!! I hope I will enjoy the movie, after what I saw in the trailer.
What really gets me mad and sad...is how the books are a trilology. (sp?) Why can't the books continue? T_T I shall continue it myself, then! haha, joking. I have no ability. =]
I cried when both Farid and Dustfinger died...it was quite sad. Farid's my favorite character...along with Meggie.

Hey everyone!
I'm been just recently been plotting on how best to annoy the employees at Wal Mart, (not illigal and technically they couldn't kick you out for it...) Ok.. I've noticed that I have an amazing talent for not only writing, but for making normal worlds like a phone, into something like "A telecomunication device" That, combined with my mock brit accent makes for something hillarious... I won't name any of the things I said, but I could easily leave the staff scrambling to find out what a compact disk (CD) , or torched skin prevention medecine (sunblock), or sanitation tissues (toilet paper) are. Anyway enough about that!
@Hornet: The snow sucks! I don't have much left, but what is there is making mud everywhere, so my bike tires keep spinning. Today I wrote under a big maple tree on the school grounds... The ants!!! I am never again sitting there again without jeans.
@the dreamweaver:
Cool nickname, reminds me of part of the lyrics of Throught the Fire and Flames...
"On the wings of a dream,
So far beyond reality,
All alone, in desperation,
Now your time has come,
Far beyond the sunset,
far beyond the moonlight,
deep inside our hearts and all our souls,
So far away, we wait for the day,
For the light source so wasted and gone,
and throught the pain, of a lifetime, lost in a thousand days,
Through the fire and the flames, we carry on!!!"
OK sorry bout that... one of my favourite songs, thats all... It also goes good with your nickname... sort of.
Anyway, welcome to the guestbook, always good to have more writers here.
@Insa:
I've finnished the "Music is" drawing/collage/photoshop creation. It's actually prety cool. What I did is took a random peice of sheet music, and twisted everything and added in notes in random places, then I coloured everything on photoshop and added in a collage on me in the background... also in the background, in big red letters, is the titl: Music is! If Ever I start a band, it would make a cool CD cover.
Anyway, now I'm goign to go, because there is a warm front aproching that has caused a thunderstorm where I live. (I think (It could be a cold front too) |

Hey Everyone!! Does enyone know if Roxane dies in INKDEATH??? Everyone is saying so, but if she dies, when Dustfinger comes BACK he, he'll heart brocken!! I cried when he died. When Farid died, I broke my book. The spine came off. I fixed it, but it looks wiered. I bet if roxane died, so will the book!LOL! Seriously!! The book won't make it to the last page.
NEW SUBJECT!!
Cornelia funke is the best author ever.
Guess whatt? I am now gonna write the book Inkheart is based off of. I love it sooooooooo much. The only thing is, Insa, do I need to read Inkdeath in order to write the book?
HERE IS MY BEGINNING!!
The thought of Roxane, the minstrel girl,crept back into his head as the trees sheltered him. Dustfinger had never noticed her amougst the Motley Folk before. She must b apart of the strolling players, he thought. Although he was one himself, he traveld alone most of the time. The girl had beautiful black hair. Indeed she was the prettiest girl in all of Lombrica.
He had met her at the city gate of Ombra. They extanged a few words but quickly left. She needed to go sing and he, play with fire.
Somthing rusled in the bushes. Dustfinger scrambled to his feet. A small marten apeared with horns and fear in his face. The marten ran behind him and before Dustfinger knew it, he was face to face with a pack of four wolves. He snaped his fingers and let fire fall to the ground creating more flames at the bottom of his feet.
The wolves flew in alarm back to the bushes in witch they came.
"Well," Dustfinger wispered to the marten who was now on his shoulder. He had to twist his hesd to look at the marten." If I leave you, you might be some breakfast. I'll name you Gwin."
Dear Insa,
How do you like it? Could you tell Cornelia for me? DO you think she will be angry or pleased?
Best wishes from Minstrel! :) :)

For everyone that is talking about snow in Apirl, last year we had snow on FRIDAY APRIL THIRTEENTH, I know that day has past, but look at it again, insain right??
Anywho, geez, haven't really gotten a look at stuff for a while now. I have been REALLY obsessed with YouTube, and the Twilight movie, and sry, but you guys were kinda left behind. That movie just is constant fun, so I have spent all my time there.
Didn't really see much to comment on, but I'm to lazy right now to do any REAL reading of what you guys are saying, partly taking that it is 6:30 in the morning, and I kinda should be getting ready for school. :-[ *VAMPIRE*
hm... anyway, lifes been insane, I have graduation soon, and have to STILL find a dress, and it is on May 16, so I kinda have to hurry. The world is spinning with talk of finals, and what we are going to take next year, and where we are going to GO next year. Hastle plus my twilight-giddy-fan-girl instinct are keeping my whole life in mayhem.
Basicly I think it is alot simpler here, no flamers or finals, no casts or classes, just a bunch of people. You guys rock! Anyway, now that my rant is done I think I'll go get ready for school, bye!

| Your books inkheart and inkspell have been a true inspiration to me and have encouraged me to write. I devoured each and every word of your stories as though they were telling a story within themselves. Your characters are believable and yet have an air of surrealism to them. Your stories take me and i am sure, many others to a whole new world and i am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. |

Im right with you there Jessy. WHAT OTHER BOY??? If almost screamed as I thought of what that could mean. (Im a very negitave person. I always think the bad ways.) When I read the interview of inkheart on wikipedie, i jumped out of my chair in excitment that Dustfinger will come back to life. i also thought then mabey a fireeater will have to give his life up for Dustfinger. I also was excited to hear that Resa is pregnate. I also think that Mo should be happy that he is BlueJay. I know it's scary, but he should be happy for what he has. Im a little nervouse about the new boy. Or i am probibly am taking this the totaly the wrong way AGAIN. I mean, I don't even know his name. Insa can you tell me the date when inkdeath is comingout? i would most apprecatied.

Hello everyone!
I had a pretty good day today... considering that it was supposed to be a horrible day... Happy earth day! today my whole school picked up garbage... me and my friends found 1 tire, 2 softballs, 1 golfball, a thermos, one big book that we thought was a bible, a dead body, 2 cement blocks (which I'm sure doent count as garbage, and many other usual things... lol there was no dead body though... In the end, picking up trash wasn't so bad; it beats math class any day. It may seam weird that I rather pick up garbage then do math exercises, but hey, picking up garbage is cleaning up the environment, and it's not boring, (especially when it's a competiton to get the most garbage.)
@Amrita Beaudine:
Wow! 10 and already wants to be a writer... (I wasn't reading biggish books like the inkworlds when I was 10! I was reading little mini books because the teachers made us read something (I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't really like reading much intil high school i'd say... but then again, I went to a french elementary)) Ok, The only thing I can say is, be curious, read a lot, and don't give up the dream. (I didn't know that ten year olds could read more than 100 pages large print)
@fee:
Good marks are annoying; I hate having to put in almost no efort and still pass everything with 80s plus. It's boring, that's why I draw in class when the teachers ramble, just not in english; english teacher is a really good teacher and I never get tired listening to her...
@Dustfinger
You probably have to be from the UK for auditions, but if you can fake the aceent, you're in! Maybe you can audition online? I mean it's a bit descrimatory if they would only let ppl for the UK... The rest of the world has talent too!!! You can try though, and if they don't let anyone else try out, then at least you'll be on a cool vacation to Europe! (I need to save up if I want to go to Germany next year (If I do go, I'll be celebrating my 16th Birthday there))
@Everyone:
Gnight for now... I have to pratice guitar (it's a weird thing really... guitar playing is the only time I've ever struggled to get good at something. Kind of good I guess) Actually I'll finnish this amazing drawing I made that represents music before I do any practicing... @insa: do you mind if I send it in? Along with a fox head I drew?

Braden (the Monkey Lord) is so awesome. I told him something today that should have made him hate me but he actually understood. I didn't do anything wrong, I think, but I never knew there were any guys who could see commen sense at my school. Like I said. Braden rocks.
My other friend is being a jerk. He's a boy. That is where I got my negitive feedback on all the males. BUT! I changed my mind and descided that it's just him I don't like.
Does anyone on here have Fan Fiction accounts? I need your pen names. I need good writing.
I hate Naruto. I have the biggest headache from watching a boy who's obsessed with it. Agonizing.
I am so psyched for the Twilight movie. It is gonna be awesome, especially because Braden's there. He is a riot.
Ah, boredom. I've got to go do my homework and have realy been just- Oops. Left my math book at school. That is too bad... Now I have to stay after. Darn.
Um... I'm out. Later.
Just kidding.
Alex: To Kill a Mockingbird really is a GREAT book. I'm a little bit obsessed. Not as badly as I am with Twilight or the Ink series but still. Obsessed.

I absolutly (sorry for the spelling) love the Ink books I can't wait for Inkdeath and I am so excited about the upcoming movie Inkheart. I have cocused my friends into coming with me for the first showing at the local theater and I have found some pictures of the people in Inkheart in full costume so I am trying to get them to dress up like some of the charcters. I am dressing up like Dustfinger because I think he is the coolest character in the books and I love playing with fire and I am know as Dustfinger in my school because I am a bit of a fire-dancer. My friends probably won't dress up but I will. I am also going to try and see if auditions for Brianna in Inkspell might be because I love that part and my parents won't pay for my plane fair so I have to get up a couple thousand dollars so I can travel there. I was also wondering if you have to be from the U.K. because I live in California and that would really make me sad if I couldn't try out for the part of Brianna. I also think it would be cool to play the part of Brianna because she yells at Dustfinger and I think it would br cool to be a unknown and able to yell at a well known actor like Paul Bettany. Well I have nothing else to talk about and I have to go, or I will never be able to get up in the morning for school.

News from the enchanted forest: I lost my watch. Ok, I know exactly where it is, but can't get it now because it's too dark and I left it in the woods. Stupid of me I know... I forget my bike, then I forget my watch. Do I ever learn my lesson? No, not really.
I was buying the "Stairway to Treehouse" (Not really, just a lame refference to Led Zepplin) but I did build a stairway. I had to take off my watch when I put the wood preserver on it though, and I forgot it hanging in a small tree. Now the staircase is going to last longer than the treehouse itself... (I'm going to have to put wood preserver on tghe whole thing now, because the staircase is green, and the treehouse isn't, and I can't make the staircase ungreen)
Besides the fact that I'm renovating a soon to be important woodland platform, I lost my cold (I think). Finaly I can breathe! Finaly I can laughf without my nose hurting because it's so red it hurts! Finally I'm not doomed to drink juices and soups all day and force myself to injest poison (Buckleys cough sirop) (I can't eat that stuff anyway, OK I probably can, but I weigh out the fact that Buckleys will kill any cold (and possibly the drinker of it too) and the horrible taste it has... I usually choose to tough out the cold without it.) It's all good... Until teacher hand out homework syndrome kicks in, that is.
Fretting about frets: After my guitar lesson yesterday, I realised that I'm having trouble keeping up with the new advanceder stuff my teacher is giving me. If All goes well, I'll actualy not sound like my guitar has a baby otter rambling about in it while I play.
Well I'll be off... And I hope it doesnt rain tonight... If it does, that weather man on TV is going to hear from me! lol no.. Speaking of which, after having reported an expired piece of pork at the grocery store yesterday, I had the wonderful Idea of comming in as the Health inspector the next time I go there. No! Acoording to Act 27c, of the Royal Constitutional Food Act, Those vegetables contain harmful flavours! I hereby decree that it is illigal to sell that! |

| I am totally, hopelessly, bookwormishly obsessed with the Inkworld Series (and I also adored the Thief Lord and Dragon Rider - you're hopelessly creative. I'm rather jealous). They explain so well the beauties and wonders of reading. I love Meggie because she reminds me of me, and she something like my best friend. And I love Farid because he loves Meggie. I cried harder than I have in a long time when he died in Inkspell. I love Dustfinger because contrary to what he thinks, he's quite brave, and Mo. Dear, dear Mo. And Resa. And even Elinor, in a way. I suppose. Anyway, I'm rather quivering with anticipation waiting for Inkdeath. Thank you so much for your beautiful gifts to literature. |

I heart Inkheart!! It is the best book ever and so is the sequel Inkspell!!! Any one who is ANY ONE will want,no, must read this book. I have read this book at least two times and every time I read it thestory breaths longer. I have tried some of the tricks that Meggie sugests, like putting a book under your pillow to hear the book wisper to you in your sleep. I havent heard any wispering yet, but it sure does give me some prety darn good dreams. Every day I visit a knew site on Inkheart. Every day I hear different news, so if you know the true date in witch Inkdeath is coming out, please tell me!!!

How do you think of such good word choice and insperation in Inkheart and Inkspell ????? Please do not end inkheart triology. Add more books after inkdeath !!! Dustfinger is my favorite character. I love Meggie and Farid too!!!! The way you describe the firey flowers and flying torches are sooo incredible! Every night, at bed, I sleep with dreams of flames now. It's wonderful. I am only ten, but could I please have some tips for writing so miraculusly? You are so amazing, I am so impressed by your wonderful talent. I bet you could read Dustfinger out with your strong power of words.
P.S. The Meggie, Farid, Mo , and Dustfinger you chose are different than I visioned, but Resa and Elinor are PERFECT matches.

Hello!
I'm making a speedy recovery! (I think) And a good thing too, because I only have 3 unread books left on my bookshelf...
Today I tried to ride my bike, and i made it up the little hill in back of my house, into the woods, past my pond (Which to my great disgust is filled with this odd orange goop that is apparently iron sedaments (or something like that) but reminds me of orange gloid from the 4th Pendragon book... I don't know if I'll want to swim in it this summer... (there's also a ton of little catfish that bite your toes (they stung last year when they were just babies... imagine after they've grown!!!))) Then I went past the ick filled pond (I hope catfish eat the stuff)
and further into the enchanted woods I know so well. Then, a horrible realisation hit me... I had forgotten to close the woodstove after I had lit on fire all of old jiunk paper inside. . . AND I COULD SMELL SMOKE ! ! ! I did a very abrupt U-turn right in the middle of the path, very nearly falling off and into a ravine, shifted into the highest gear and pedaled as fast as I could until /// Just kidding. I felt like being dramatic there. What really happened was that I hit a snowbank that was rude enough not to melt before I got there. Then, I went back to the... Wait a minute... Oh... I just realised that I forgot my bike up at the pond, and that I walked down for some reason or another ... Oh... I couldn't have thought about that an hour ago... even ten minutes ago; it wasn't pitch black out then. Well, I know what I'm doing tomorow. I just hope no hikers see it though, (theres a hiking trail near the pond) If it's a sunny day, tomorow, someone will see it for sure... well I wont fret about it any more... If it hadn't been for fretting about it, I would have never known where it was though...
Ok, thats about it... maybe more, but i forgot... |

So, how many of you were at the Sprockets Film Festival? I was and I enjoyed the movie very much. I didn't see the movie before,I just watched the trailer. I watched it so much that I memorized the lines in the movie.
Insa I have a question. Do you know when world reading day is in Canada and America??
I can't wait till Inkdeath and Inkheart movie come out!!!!!!!!
Oh and please don't get mad at Mrs.Funke for not being able to release the book sooner. As well don;t get mad at her if the romances don't happen as you want.
Bye!! Have fun reading!!!
*** Hi Sprotte, no, I'm not sure. I only found the British "WorldBookDay" website. World Book Day 2008 in the UK and Ireland took place on Thursday 6th March, but this date applies to the UK and Ireland only. The initiative is so well established in schools there that they wanted to make sure that the Day happens in term time to really make the most of this opportunity to celebrate books and reading. Most other countries hold World Book Day on 23rd April every year. ***

Just thought I should bring this up for the sake of Scipio:
His name is Italian. In Italian S-C is pronnounced "Sh". Therefore, his name is "Sheep-ee-oh", not "Skip-ee-oh" Yes, I know it's "Skip" in the movie. The movie got it wrong.
Although, after that pronnunciation how-to, I am sure everyone is going to make sheep noises every time you hear his name. :D
A Cullen house? Better watch out for vampires. ;) What's your e-mail? I also need to rant to another Twilight fan, but I think it best not to annoy other people who use this guetsbook with such rants. :)

Helloes everyone... I'm making a recovery, I think... I'm scared to go to sleep though, last night I didnt get any sleep till 3 in the morning, and I kept dreaming these messed up dreams about the american revolution that kept me awake. (In history class I watched an american reolution movie.)
Then when I did get some sleep (4 hours worth) I was weak for hours... I'm not too bad now, but I still hate colds.
And Today I kept wanting to go to my local bookstore and spend my birthday money and bookstore giftcards. Coincidentally I also want to get a job there and want to ask for an opening while I'm buying a book, or 2, or 3... (I'm running dangerously low on new reads)(and I don't particularly like borrowing them from the library, because I like to actually own the book.)
@Hornet:
It would be nice If people understood more about writing though, most people always think that in order to get anything published, it CANT be your first piece of work, or that you have to be famous... I can count the people I know in person that really understand the whole concept on my fingers. It's a good thing I'm determined.
I'm jealous. I always wanted a cat (or a dog) but my parents are allergic. I have a rabit though, a very odd brown rabit with white fur on his belly and around his eyes, nose, mouth, and in his ears. He eats icecubes, and I think he likes heights, because last week I put him up in the highest place in my tree"house" and he didn't want me to take him down from there.
Lol I keep nagging my parents to buy a beagle though (the coolest dog ever) but they keep complaining that the house needs renovating , and anything elsethat comes to mind (they arent even allergic to dogs, just cats). Really annoying!
I have to go now... well technically I dont, but I will, for the sake of not boring everyone to death.
Bye

The Black Hood: Yeah, it's nice to talk about writing to someone. Lot's of my friends like writing and have FanFiction accounts but they never really like to talk about writing unless it's about updating their FanFiction.
I do get to talk about it to some people but they don't understand...
WOW mycatisweird. Sorry I knot that was random but she really is. I was just sitting there for about 3 minutes trying to figure out what she was doing (I never figured it out either).
I get the noise thing too, I can't work in complete silence, (that goes for homework and tests too) the last couple days I've been in a Nickelback mood but sometimes I go to things as strange as Frank Sinatra (if you even know who that is). I love country music, but there are very few artists that I can listen to and work to at the same time.
I used to write in a gym filled with about 20 kids, grades k-5 running around and that was strangely one of the easiest places to get something done. I've actually been thinking about going back to that programing and seeing if I can help out so maybe I can get that concentration again. I don't know...
Anyway...
For anyone who read TWILIGHT: There's really no point to this I just thought it was cool because about a block away from my mom's house there is a house there is a house called the CULLEN HOUSE!!! It's so cool, it's really old, I'm pretty sure it's a historical home, and it's also HUGE and basically looks exactly like how I imagined the Cullen house at first but a lot less cared after.
If anyone on here still reads Twilight please talk to me!!! I have this horrible obsession with the books and movie at the moment and I feel the need to talk to someone about it. My friends all stopped listening to me about a week ago, which really sucks.
I was going to say something else but forgot what it was!

Don't worry too much about all the tenses.. You'll only mess yourself up. ;) Besides, German grammar is harder than English Grammar, isn't it? :) Just go write your story. Try! But... maybe you ought to use a grammar-checker. xD
I know Die Aerzte, and I've heard of Tokio Hotel but never heard any TH songs. I like Die Aerzte though. :D The video for "Junge" is creepy, though! O_O.. Do you know Die Toten Hosen? I think they're okay, too. :)
No, I can't afford to fly back to Germany. :(
I like any kind of videogame, really... my fave is Contact for Nintendo DS. ;)
The <3 doesn't work on Mac's I think. It won't work on my (now broken) Computer at home, it won't work here (on the school computer) and it doesn't work on my mom's laptop either!!! -.-' "Na ja, egal."

Hey yummy girl! =)
Nicole Richie plays in Simple Life, too =) I like her more, because … she is freakier^^ Did you see when she broke the desk with a motor saw? ^^
Er, isn’t the Inkdeath cover in the news? Well, wait a minute, I’ll look … yes, there is this cover, the third one.
I’m hot, hot, I’m hot like that, no, it’s not, not, no it’s not like that =)
I like this one song in the first HSM movie … I don’t know its name, but the Wild Cats dance there in the gym with their basketballs and I think they’re singing “… hidden the game”. It rocks! ^^ Or Fabulous, yeah! =)
By, yummy omelet =) big kiss! |

I am in a horrid mood waiting for my father to come. He lives in Missouri and is driving up to New York to hang out with me for a week. Just bored, is all.
I am hitting a book wall. Suggestions?
-groans- Tired... I'm gonna go make coffee and call my friends. See ya.

i just noticed this while i was rereading inkeart. Dustfinger tells Meggie and elinor that he drove a car to find out where they took Mo, but later he tells Elinor he can't drive. It doesn't make sense.
PS- who's cornelia's favorite character?
*** Hi Kiele, as for your first question, as far as Cornelia remembers he says he drove a motor cycle and - he is lying anyway!
Question 2: Cornelia can't decide for or against one character. They all flew from her pen. They are all special. *** |

I just wanted to say that your books are my #1 favorite. The detail/ description in them is so entrancing, and the whole plot itself is awesome. I, myself, want to be a writer when I grow older. I'm only 16 right now, and probably don't have much of a chance right now. As a writer, do you have any tips for me?
