Dear Folks,

now that Christmas and New Year's Eve are again just around the corner, you may ask what Guesty is planning to do this year.
Well, actually he wanted to do ... nothing. Just lazing around, watching kitschy X-mas movies and stuffing himself with gingerbread and cinnamon cookies.

But yesterday we got an urgent letter from Rudolph (maybe you remember that last year Guesty celebrated Christmas with the red-nosed reindeer, and he even was allowed to help pulling the sledge).
To cut a long story short, Rudolph is down with the flu, got it from his reindeer chum Donner, and his red nose just won't stop running. That's why Guesty will have to be running - to Lapland - to pull the sledge, you know? Otherwise there won't be presents this year :- (

So, on Tuesday Guesty will pack his bags to head for the icy North. This little bulky book ... always involved in adventures. Me, on the other hand, I'll spent the holidays with my family as usual - but for sure this will be nice as well :- )
And Guesty has promised to throw down snow and nuts and chocolate gingerbread men for us when flying above our heads on Christmas Eve. Don't you promise too much, little bulky book! I'm sure you will eat all that sweet stuff yourself ;- )

Anyway, we wish you a cosy Christmas time and a beautiful, dazzling new year 2009! We'll be back for you on 7 January. Take care and don't you drink too much eggnog :- D

Insa :- ) and Guesty :o )

Been Busy here, my older brother got back from his honeymoon earlier today. Right now, he and his new wife are out looking for an apartment. It's snowing here. I just got back from school.

Hi Insa and others!

I'm so sorry about not writing in so long...I feel horrible about it, but it seems like I can't keep up with entries anymore! It's been weeks since my last entry, and they have sort of faded off...I never thought high school would get so busy! I guess it's a good thing that I was made team captain on JV softball, but it's a lot of work practicing every day from right after school to 7:15, then doing homework and things...EEK! So anyway, those are my horrible excuses. I just wanted to let you all know that I miss you very much when I can't write to everyone, especially Insa because she does so much (and has put up with my insanely long entries for a very long time. ^_^) but I think the best plan is to hang on and wait to jump back into things after the softball season ends. Which is MAY!!! :'( *tear*. Will you forgive me, Insa and Mikil and Yalie and everyone? :-)

Lots and lots of love zoooooming to wherever you are!!

~Alex!!

Especially in school... my favorite colors are black and dark-blue. I hate pink. And cute things in general... x( I don't like chocolate, I love marzipan. xD I don't like it when people diss me for no apparent reason. x( I listen to music alot, especially rock (metal). I was wondering what it is like for Cornelia to be such a great writer. Does she worry about her next book being as thrilling as her last. Does she worry about people expecting too much of her. I hope not. But if she does, mabe she should say to herself, "It only matters what I think of all things that I do in my life."
Love ya Cornelia!

I have also read Thief Lord and Dragon Rider which were fantastic!

Hi Guesty,
It is Spring Break right now=)! I've had plenty of reading time and I have also delved into a new very excellent novel called the Invention of Hugo Cabret. It is part novel part graphic and 118.5% great. I'm also reading a companion book to His Dark Materials called "Lyra's Oxford." I'm still awaiting Inkdeath vivaciously. Is there an exact date besides Summer 2008 when Inkdeath will come out in the United States? Venice is the best place in the world. I really liked the Basilica (although we didn't get to see the real golden horses.) I wanted to bring my copy of The Thief Lord but I brought the book on tape instead. We visited the Rialto Market and ate lots of gelato of course. We also went to Rome, Siena, and Florence and Tuscany. We took loads of pictures and we stayed in a small rented apartment in a back alleyway with a luminous green star just a few yards away. It was almost like living in the Stella because the doorway to the apartment was almost hidden. We saw the Book Man statue AKA Prosper, Hornet, Riccio, Mosca, and Bo's meeting place and of course we visited Santa Campo Margherita where Ida Spavento lives. I couldn't find Fondamenta Bollani on our map and I also couldn't find hidden movie theaters. We saw Murano and bought some glass pieces and we got pigeon-ed at San Marco. We walked inside the Bridge of Sighs during our tour of the Doge's Palace. My sister visited the Ghetto and I saw The Thief Lord DVD in Italian in a shop window. We also were there right before Carnival so all the streets were adorned with glowing stars and fancy masks. I found The Thief Lord's mask in one shop window. They have many bird masks in Venice but no of them look exactly like a thief's mask. We ate lots of pizza, pasta, and paninis. We saw Venetian neighborhoods and...a library! I found The Secret of Platform 13 there in Italian. In Switzerland I found The Thief Lord and Inkdeath in German. We saw the Colleseum (now how do you spell that?), Palentine Hill, and vigorous gelato sellers. In Siena we heard about a famous horse race and in Florence we saw David and a lot of really old stuff. In Switzerland we all ate loads of Swiss chocolate and went skiing. Swiss skiing is loads better than American skiing because you go really fast and it's out of control (well maybe that's just a teensy little exaggeration.) Yes. Europe is awesome but I really missed my books there! I am also still a fanatic about His Dark Materials. I've read all his books three times each and I brought the Subtle Knife, The Golden Compass, and the Amber Spyglass to Italy and Switzerland. The Golden Compass is of course my favorite. I adore the movies. My favorite characters are Pantalaimon, Lyra's daemon and Iorek Byrnison. I also really like Lee Scoresby the Texan aeronaut and his daemon Hester a scrawny and tough rabbit with golden eyes. I think Marisa Coulter is a lot like Roxane (Dustfinger's wife) because she's jealous and just a little spiteful. On the other hand Roxane isn't a evil agent for the government. Have you read His Dark Materials? Which was your favorite? I saw The Golden Compass in Italian in a Venetian book shop. Goodbye!

The Thief Lord,

P.S. Do you like Inkheart or Inkspell better? I personally prefer Inkspell.

*** Hi Thief Lord, thanks a lot for your Europe travel diary :- )
Me and Insa have not read His Dark Materials, but Cornelia looooves the books :- )

Dragon Rider-
No sweat! ^_^ Just relax, k dude? Peace.

Scourge15-
Never mind... it doesn't matter anyway. ;p
Why'd you call yourself Scourge15? How many siblings do you have? Sorry, I am a very inquisitive person. ^_^

Meggie2-
Maybe I should just stop asking such petrifying questions... I guess curiousity can get a little out of hand sometimes, too, eh? Na ja...
Well, you know there's that "About The Author" caption on the inside of the back cover on most books? You could put your real name in that caption if you really want them to know you that well. I probably would... so there you go. Problem solved. ^_^
Yup, I love foxes. They are clever, sly, and if you really want to go that far-- even cute. I'm not usually into cute things, but then foxes are predators, too, and I think that's just cool. Like a double-identity! I like foxes...
Oh, I LOVE wolves! They're actually my favorite animal... but for some reason Scarlet Fox just sounds better than Scarlet Wolf. You know how it just sounds weird if your last name doesn't match your first name? Yeah...
Horses are cool. =D Especially wild horses... but I guess it would be kind of hard to ride those. =\
Na egal... my best friend (Milena Hollmann) is also completely obsessed with horses. And who can blame her? Horses are fascinating creatures. Think of how many fantasy beings are based on horses! Centaurs, unicorns, Pegasus...
Well, yeah that too. Gwyn is actually my nickname, but it also doubles as "Gwin" because my favorite characters in the Ink-Trilogy are Basta, Dustfinger, and Gwin. ;) I don't like Jink as much... he's too tame. Ah well... but y'know, Meggie and Mo are pretty cool too. Who wouldn't want to be able to read characters out of a book? But I wouldn't try to read Basta out of either Cornelia's Inkheart or Fenoglio's Inkheart for obvious reasons. ^_*
I've been trying FOREVER to get my family to call me all sorts of names-- anything I can come up with-- but they never do.. After a while I gave up trying. But if I can become a well-known author I can get everybody to call me Scarlet! How sweet is that?!? As for polite people... I don't like the title Miss or whatever but Ms. Fox would still sound pretty cool, wouldn't it? Hehe...

Insa-
Ok, thanks! ^_^ Now where is my iPod...

Please excuse me, Cornelia, but I have heard a great number of dates for when Inkheart comes out in theater, and I was wondering what the real date was, and I was hoping you could tell me. If you would tell me it would be a serious weight off of my friends and my backs. I would also like to tell you that me and my friend, Farrah Bekheet, are in love with you're Inkworld books. Also, what is the real date for Inkdeath (or is it Inkdawn?) to come out.
Like I said, I would really love it if you could give me the real dates for these two events. I am sorry for taking up your time, please accept my apology.

Sincerely, Catherine

*** Hi Catherine, there are no exact dates yet, but the movie is said to be premiered in January 2009 and Inkdeath will come out around autumn 2008. Warmest wishes from Germany! Insa ***

@Gwyn:
My answeres:
1. I don't know
2. water
3.drown
Yes, I know that authors sometimes chance their name. I've think about it too. The good thing is: You can give you the name you want. The bad thing is: The readers of your books don't know your real name, so they can't say for example when a teacher read your book: I know the girl. I'm right?
Scarlet Fox, that sounds good. I think I would call me Meggie ... no not Folchart :O) Meggie- oh! I've no idea.
Why Fox? Do you like foxes?
And when not, what's your favourite animal then? My is the horse. But Meggie Horse sounds crazy. And I like wolfs. Meggie Wolf. That sounds better.
Your real name is Cora Gwyneth. I've thougt all over the time, you call yourself Gwyn because Gwin from Inkheart. Now I knew it better. I don't say my real name =) I would have, that my family calls me Meggie- but they don't want.

Scourge15-
Hi. Where exactly are the Badlands?

Dragon Rider-
It's not that I find it nerdy... I just don't quite get it that's all. Temperature is a number. NO. It's the average speed at which particles are vibrating. Age is a number. True, but it's ACTUALLY the number of years or months or weeks or days or hours or minutes or seconds (or whatever else you can come up with) that you've been alive. I've been alive for about a decade and two and a half years. So? That doesn't necessarily have to be nothing BUT a number.
Oh heck, why the crap are we arguing about this? How do I always manage to get myself into these pointless arguments? It's WEIRD!
*ahem*
Ok, sorry. Kinda lost myself there... happens all the time.
Well, umm, to tell the truth I kind of missed Dakota's message (I'm far too lazy to read everything that comes in, that's Insa's job. =P) but now that you mention it, I'll see if I can find it.
*wait*
Ok, read it. Very... emotional. DAKOTA IF YOU ARE READING THIS... keep trying! Where there's a will there's a way. See, there you go, Dragon-Rider I can speak nerd after all. =) DAKOTA if you're wondering why I'm writing that in capitals, it's just to get your attention so don't freak, ok? Thanks. =D NEVER GIVE UP. Hehe, that's funny, my favorite song is called Never Too Late, I don't know why I put this here... Guess, I'm just plain strange, aren't I?

Rosana12-
Umm, yeah... I'm only in grade seven. I think I'll just stick with the three tenses that are used more often and are waaay easier to remember: Past, Present, Future. Most people only ever need to use past anyway. (It's so much easier to remember as I told you before...)
^_^ Well, I already know how I want my story to continue, I just don't know how I'm gonna write it... *Grübel*
Tough question. The answer is both. They speak both English and French here in Canada. :) The majority of people speak English but French IS an official language in Canada. (so is English). Most packages or whatever you buy, have both English and French written on the back. I can't read the French though... :(
All I know how to say is "Je m`appelle Gwyneth" but I think I spelt that wrong... *sigh*
"Est que je peux ouvre le fenêtre?"
"Est que je peux boire de leau?"
...is what I use most often in French class. It's too bad I forget how to ask to go to the bathroom... oh well.
I lived directly in Stuttgart, and yes I was born there too. ^_^
Vancouver is nice. It's on the coast, so you can swim in the ocean... problem is it's the Atlantic Ocean. And it's FREEZING! Even in summer!!! Plus, you'd be swimming with algae and sea-weed not with fish. And it's hard to dodge all the bird-poop-missiles! They actually aim for your head, y'know. At least it feels like they do. Duck! Bird-crap all over the place... not a pretty sight, trust me.
Well, I'm not really into things like DSDS or American Idol (or Canadian Idol, for that matter). Action Films are okay, I guess. As for modelling... I don't really care much for that either.
Are you serious? I LOVE anything Rock! Hard Rock, Soft Rock, or just plain Rock... \ nn/
I fall asleep to my iPod sometimes... then I can never get up in the morning, and I'm late for school. Ah well...
I like Three Days Grace, Evanescence, Avril Lavigne, Seether, Kelly Clarkson... sometimes Finger Eleven and Nickelback, too. Not much though. Have you heard of Three Days Grace? I think they're so cool!
How the crap do you make the heart anyhow? <3 ??? I seriously I have no idea. Oh well.
What's your favorite color? Favorite song? Favorite Animal? Lucky Number? Best highscore in your favorite video-game? If you don't play video-games, best highscore in anything? Favorite book?
My answers:
1) Blue.
2) Never Too Late by Three Days Grace.
3) Wolf or Fox.
4) 13, 666, or 9.
5) 48 000.
6) anything by Cornelia Funke or Eoin Colfer.
It's alright, really... The homesickness is worse. Actually it's not just my dad. My entire family ON DAD'S SIDE is still living in Germany. My mom's family is just all over the place, and I don't even know everybody on mom's side so it doesn't matter anyway.

Dakota-
*Read what I wrote to Dragon Rider* and maybe also read what he wrote me. =)

Meggie2-
K, how 'bout this then: Fire or Ice? Fire or Water? MELT OR DROWN? My answers: Ice, Water, Drown. Check my pulse, maybe I'm cold-blooded...
As for your question: Both. I love to write and I want to become an author and if that doesn't work, an illustrator. At least I'll be able to read lots and lots of books! Maybe, if I'm lucky something by Cornelia Funke or Eoin Colfer. (my favorite authors, obviously).
My real name is Cora Gwyneth Navarro (which is why I use the name Gwyn in the guestbook), but I'd rather go with a different name (you know how authors sometimes change their name?) for example Scarlet Fox or something like that. I love the name Scarlet. Then my nickname could be Scar... but I'm not sure about the last name though. Definitely some sort of animal... maybe Wolf or Snake or whatever. =D

Insa-

So I've come back. BUT! I have a really good excuse for not writing. My friend, the Monkey Lord (Braden) was staying after school for mod 12 and sense me and my friend follow him everything, we did too. It cut into my online time, which I spent on Fan Fiction. AND! I was spending my computer class time sneaking work onto my gym project. AND! I was writing my book. AND! I was fighting Writer's Block. AND! I was looking for my Fratellis CD because they are awesome. Yeah, so I was busy.
I figure that by the time this is posted I will be out of school for like a week. I am rather psyched. I can't stand another science test or having Mrs. Baker yell at me for writing too small. I do not like that woman. She told this boy who I really hate that I loved him really loud and the entire hallway heard. She is... not very good at her job.
Anyhoo, I am now sick and can't even talk at the moment. It is ticking me off because my friend keeps calling me and I can't talk to her. -sighs- Irritation. I still have to go to school though! Not fair.
The other day I faked being sick to skip gym and it turned out that I actually was. This was how it went.
Nurse: 99.5. You can go get your stuff, you're going home.
Me: What?! That's impossibe! I was faking it!
Nurse: Well you're sick so consider yourself lucky. I'm going to go call your mother.
Me (rather freaked): Okay.
That was weird...
I've just read "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. That's a real good book.
My friend calls me Lace due to a typo spelling Alice on IM. I call her Boo because... It was the first word that I thought of.
I am a solid Fratellis addict. They are a really great band. Such adorable accents! -squeels-
I feel sick and a little faint probably due to the fact that I just fell off my chair onto a pencil and nearly killed myself due to loss of air. Oh well.
Now, somebody, please, fill me in on what I've missed.
Alex: Hiya! I just wanted to inform you that the guy playing Jasper is like 13 years younger looking than the girl playing Alice! I find that wrong... And he's not even cute...

Sorry, that I’m late! I don’t know, there are more tenses:
Simple present, present progressive, simple past, past progressive, present perfect simple, present perfect progressive, past perfect simple, past perfect progressive, the will-future and the going-to-future. 10 tenses. *g* But I’ll write my story in this guestbook (my English story)
Sorry for you, with your dad (tut mir leid für dich, dass dein Vater so weit weg wohnt!)
Do you speak English or frensh in Canada. I think it’s fresh, isn’t it? I will read your story and tell you how you can continue. Do you want that on German or on (ähm, does I must said in English?) English? Where do you had live in German, in Baden Württenberg? Direct in Stuttgart or near? If I drive to Stuttgart, I drive 1 hour. You are born in German?
Vancouver sounds cool, to live there. How is the live there?
I like music videos, too. I like shows like Germany’s next Topmodel, Popstars and DSDS (Deutschland sucht den Superstar (German looks for the next superstar)). I like actionfilms and sometimes romance.
I like Hip-hop, Pop, Tecno, new metal is okay, but I hate Rock and hard rock!
I like Timbaland, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Nelly Futado, Nevada Tan, Avril lavigne.. I think Madonna, Sunraice Avainu and Shakira are ok, sometimes good.
I like fantasy, but realistic in the history is cool!

Hello,
As you know, my name in Dakota. most people in these letters would say that they LOVE Cornelia's books and can't wait to see the upcoming movie. i believe in all these things too and i hope that Cornelia writes some more books about Meggie and Farid and Mo. I also want to say that i too act but haven't gotten the write role yet. Infact, i have only played in plays and musicals. i dont know anyway this would be posible but i would love it if i could partake in Eliza Bennets place for (if the 2nd book : inkspell is coming out on film) in inkspell. you're probably going to just read this and say, "we have a good actoress and we'll keep it at that. besides, she doesnt have any experience." but i do have endurance. and i would act in that movie , maybe even in Inkheart, any day and i would give all i can. and i promise you, that would be enough.
youre probably thinking, she didnt even audition and there are so many letters like this. but im telling you that if you dont switch me in, you've got the wrong person. i also have a few reasons too.
1. the british accent of Eliza doesn't really go into the american accent of Bredan
2. Eliza has blonde hair, and her father and mother both have drak hair (by the way i have brown hair and i am 12 years old turning 13 in September)
3. my draemis to be an actress and i hope that by sending this in, it wont just be passed to a social worker or anyone who just deletes the email once it is read. im realistic and i know that the statistics sat that im never going to get this role and im dreaming too big because they already have the actress who will be playing Meggie. but theres time! i can memmorize scripts, i can learn fast. and i also love the books. i would put my heart and soul into it. sure i get nervous but i would do what ever it takes to play in this movie (but i wont go to the extremes). i hope you make a wise descision and let me act in this movie because you are making a wrong descision. and once again youre thinking, how can a 12 year old know if we are making a bad descision, well the answer is, is that i know that i have dreamt of playing the part of Meggie and why so late? why not audition? because i didnt have the money and time. my father is deploying soon and i just want to do this for my and all the army kids in america and all over the world. but this isnt a sympathy letter. im here telling you and convincing you that i should be playing that role and that there should be a 4th book. hopefully my convincing is working.

yours truley and most admiring,
Dakota

ps. even if you have bad news, please contact back and inform me how the movie and book is going. thank you.

Yes, I write. Of course about fantasy :-) What you're writing about? Only about fantasy? I want to learn writing good books, but that isn't so easy! My dream is it, to become an author. For that I've to learn. You're a hobby writer or do you want to be an author too?

Hi peoples! How's it going today? I'm really bored right now, and I'm feeling kind of paranoid, so that's why I'm writing in here... I need to do SOMETHING or the eternal ticking of the living room clock will drive me insane. So, well-- yeah. Hope you guys don't mind me bugging everybody (again). ^.^

Maeve-
Hehe, I'm also (kinda) addicted to videogames. But I've managed not to play any for about 3 weeks (so far) and I think I've held myself pretty well... not considering the fact that I've been on the computer all day everyday reading Cornelia's guestbook and stuff... #_#
Anyway, about your siblings... I'm guessing it would have to be pretty hard getting on your nerves if you can handle that. How big of a house does your family need?!?
Well, I don't have that many brothers and sisters, but I DO have a total of 16 cousins. First cousins. =P Not including second and third. 14 on mom's side, 2 on dad's side. Weird, eh? Would make more sense if it was 8 on each side... then it would be EVEN. But yeah.. that doesn't happen very often anyway, now does it?
I'm 12 by the way. Turning 13 in june. ^_^

Dragon Rider-
Woah there, wise guy! I don't speak nerd. But I think I kind of more-or-less understand what you mean by "age is but a number." ...I think.
I have short, dark brown (almost black) hair, with a bit of orange-brown dye on the ends. My eyes are as dark as brown can get, but still not quite black. I don't really know too much about feet and inches and whatever, but I do know that I'm somewhere around 162cm tall. I think that's about 5'2. Not sure, though.
I assume by "bigger" you mean "taller" otherwise it would just be kind of awkward...
Well, opposites attract don't they? At least that's what people are always telling me. Specifically my science teacher. Negatives and positives and that kind of crap that I don't really care much about... oh well. *_*
Okay well, erm... good luck with that.

Horsefreak-
Oh okay, well sorry. It's all good. I'm happy. Don't want to force you into doing anything you don't want to do. ^_^ I tend to ask way too many questions sometimes... pardon my curiosity. =)

Insa-
okay...

Hallo,
Insa, wann sind die auditions? My german teachers say that I don't sound like a foreigner. Why do they want native speaker? Don't they want to give a chance to students who have spent most of their life learning how to sound like a foreigner? I was in Germany and everyone thought that I was from Germany.
Another question, who are the people chosen replacing? Is the old cast still staying, or are some of them going out of the business?

Sorry for the pestering.

Frohe Ostern!

*** Hi Sprotte, I really can't help you. You have to ask the casting agency. The casting is not our job and we do not know what will be required. I only know that it is a German production. New Line Cinema also only accepted native speakers for "Inkheart". ***

I also wanted to say that i am so glad that Dustfinger is coming back because i am so in love with him and i would give anything to meet him. I do have 1 question for you though - Did Dustfinger and Resa ever kiss or anything? Because in Inkspell it says 'Resa hung her head as she remembered the time he couldn't tell Roxane about'. Does that mean they kissed or something? Please reply!

Hey Everyone! I decided to start my road trip here. The weather is very pleasant and since I am pretty short, I haven’t been labeled a “Disturber of the peace”, like some certain special people… Everything is so laid back and unhurried, I almost don’t want to leave, but I must continue! Like they say (repeatedly) in “Meet the Robinsons”: Keep Moving Forward!

Gwyn,
Greetings from the Shire! Y’know, having that many siblings isn’t really that hard. Only one of them drives me slightly crazy, and that’s because he is addicted (kinda) to video games. The oldest is 25, then 23, then 19, then me (I’m 16), then the twins, who are 14, then the vid-gamer, 12, and then my littlest sister, who’s just turned 10. So, if you count the twins as one, I’m the middle child and part of the older four and the younger four, cause I’m cool like that.:):):) And my last name is…. Bloom. (haha, yeah right);)

John looks the same as me except bigger, and his fiance is blond and brown eyed. They are exact opposites.
Anyway, the wedding is the day after tomorrow, so I probably wont be able to write for a while.

I am 54 years old and my wife has recently taken to listening to books on CD and we came across Inkheart, read by the wonderful Ms. Redgrave. My wife was already on the second book when I began to listen to the first. I was astounded! I'm a faster reader than a listener so I immediately ran out to the bookstore to purchase both books! These are among the best pieces of storytelling, in both young and adult fiction, I have ever had the pleasure to read!!! I can't put in enough exclamation points to tell you how happy I am to read them! I especially enjoy how deliciously and judiciously the plot points are revealed. Just as a clue is slipped out that Resa might be Meggie's mom and your mind begins working on that as it is racing ahead reading to see what happens next, then it is plainly stated as fact. I feel like you are treating the reader with great respect by not stretching out the obvious beyond our ability to grasp it.
I can hardly wait until Inkdeath comes out!

Hi everyone!
Sorry, my computer just shut off on me, in the middle of one of my endless messages. I couldn't remember all the things I wrote, and I was too lazy to try again. Oh well, here I go again...

Insa-
Is there any way of saving a message so when something goes wrong or whatever you don't have to write it all over again? ...that happened to me. Maybe I should shorten my messages, hey?

Seratiala-
Suprise, suprise! I'm the same age as you! I'm turning 13 in june. When's your birthday? I don't think it matters, but it would be kinda weird if you were older than me by a few months or whatever, and I still have better spelling than you, which by the way, I don't, so... yeah. :)
Can I ask a question? What kind of music do you like? Totally off topic, I know...

Maeve-
Well, uh... hard to say. I have a half sister and a step sister. Do those count, too? If they do, I'm the oldest of the trio. I'm almost 13, my step sis Anastasia is almost 4, my half sis Yael (weird name, eh?) is about a year old. =P So yeah. Ana ain't really related to me, but I guess I should call her "my sister" anyway. Not that I'd want to but... now that you mention it. I probably should. =P
Seriously?!?! How the devil (pardon the swear) can you NOT go completely bonkers?!?! Having THAT many siblings would drive me insane. How old are they? How old are you? To tell the truth... my mom actually has 11 (ELEVEN!!!) siblings (but one of them was murdered) so I'm really pissed, for two reasons:
1. When we're asked to do a family tree in school (twice so far, once in health and once in french..) it never fits on one paper. My dad has siblings too, y'know.
2. My uncle was killed in a bank seven years ago, when I was only 6. They caught the guy who shot him, 4 years later (I was nine, my b-day hadn't come yet...) but they didn't even bother puttin' em in jail! They thought he'd "learned his lesson" because it was so long ago, anyhow. I would swear right now, but I don't think I should because... you know...
I'll just let that information sink in for a minute.
Really... road trip, hm where you planning to go?
I figured you might ask this question so I'll answer it before you ask it (I'm so psychic, haha!) My dad has two bros, Uwe (german name) and Andreas that's Andrew in english (Andi or Andy for short). In order, from oldest to youngest: my dad, uncle Uwe, uncle Andi. I have 2 cousins (Andi's kids) Jonas (my favorite cousin of all) and Nina. I think those are German names too...
You didn't actually say your last name. What is it? I'm so evil, LOL.
Why? Personally, I thought the first Artemis Fowl book was one of the best... not as good as the fifth one though. :) Cappucino! ...sorry. Couldn't resist. =P

Meggie2-
I agree! Fantasy is sooo cool. :D Especially the magic and the creatures. Schreibst du auch?
Would you rather freeze to death, or burn to death? I would rather freeze to death. That way, my body won't disintegrate quite as fast, and one day when they figure out how to bring frozen dead bodies back to life, I'll be baaack!
I think you meant "different"? "Otherwise" means something else, but it IS a word, I'll give you that. You were close! :) But yeah, you're right it is better in Germany (no offense to any Canadians reading this!) but too much sleet can get exausting after a while... :(

Horsefreak-
I already tried writing this message once before, but then my computer broke down (for no apparant reason) so I'll try to make this short-er. Or short-ish. Or what the heck I'll just write the whole damn thing all over again:
I seriously don't care much for american geography (or any geography, really), so I have no idea which state is in the middle. As for geometry, I don't care much for that either, so why not just quit talkin' in riddles and say the actual NAME of it? Not "the Big Apple" or "Orange County" but the ACTUAL name. I live in the city of Calgary, in the province called Alberta, in the country known as Canada, on the continent North America, on planet Earth in the solar system of the milky way galaxy, in this Universe. That's as clear as I can get, and this is how I prefer to talk: C-L-E-A-R-L-Y. It's that simple. :)
I saw the pic of your horse, Dixie, in the photos section of this site... I'm so jealous, I don't have a horse (not that I could afford one) !!! You're sooo lucky!

Dragon Rider-
Wow, 15... I'm only 12, 13 in june. :(Woah, it feels weird writing the same message twice. My computer broke down on me yesterday so I have to do it again.)
I guess Grinsa does sound more exciting than just John... I don't know the book though. :(
Hehe I could imagine you not getting along with her, even though I dunno what either of you look like. =) =P

Yo!
Hey you guys! I can't think of how to continue my story, but just to be sure, do any of you actually want to know how it continues? If not, I won't bother putting it in here when I figure out what to write. ^_*

Gwyn

*** Hi Gwyn, maybe you should write your messages first as Word document, where you can save it. Hugs! Insa ***

Dear Gwyn-
I think I have now thoroughly confused everyone on the site. Just call me Maeve, cause, y’know, that’s what I started out with anyway. I was just joking about Guiness, like how I said I should be in it for randomness, but then, maybe so should everybody. That’s all. Nothing really to say… and sorry, it’s not like it matters, but I’m not gonna disobey my parents just to tell everyone my last name. Oh and by the way (you’ll probably think it’s a lie, but it’s true!!) I have seven siblings, and I wish I had more. And I know three families who have twice as many! Are you the only kid in your family? Just wundrin’….
Yours, Maeve

Dear Lauren,
Okay, here’s the deal. The first Artemis Fowl book is kinda stupid and weird, but I think the second, third, and fourth one’s make it totally worth it. Keep reading! (And read Shadow Spinner too!

Yes, you can make your own rules when you write about magic. That's good. And because that I like it so much, to write about fantasy. What I like at fantasy too is, you can write crazy things... (du kannst deiner Fantasie freien Lauf lassen). Oh I like that so much!

Those dictionaries never translate anything properly... )x I just use my own... but I still mess up big time. Dx
Well, there's only four tenses, so you have a 25% chance of getting it right. (: There is past, present, future, and "flashback" I don't know if that's what they call it, but it's almost like past, only that you're already in the past, remembering something even farther in the past... confusing right? Well, the best is past tense when writing stories in any language. Maybe that helps...
Actually I've only just started my story... I don't think you'd find more than what you've already seen, but maybe you could help me come up with ideas to continue? I know what I want to write, I just don't know how... ): So far, I'm stuck with two parts in English and half a part in German... I didn't think "Writer's Block" would get me so fast, when I've only just started!
I used to live in Stuttgart, Baden-Würtemberg in Germany for ten years. Then we (my mom and I) moved to Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada, then to Calgary, Alberta in Canada. My dad still lives in Germany, though... and so do my friends. *sob*
I like to watch music videos, rather than TV shows, but if I do decide to watch TV, I love to watch anything anime... as long as it's not any kind of romance. *shudder* No, I hate romance.
I love to read all sorts of fantasy fiction, anything with magic in it, I'm reading it. Or even if it doesn't, all it takes is one imaginary creature to spark my interest. But I don't read it if it sounds too realistic... I just like fantasy. ^_^ Still... realistic fiction is okay too... I just don't enjoy it as much. How about you? What kind of music do you listen to? I love rock or maybe even pop, which is basically soft rock... so yeah. My favorite band is Three Days Grace. :) I also like Evanescence, Seether, and Avril Lavigne (before she turned all girly-girl)...they're cool. ^_^

Lauren-
I mean I'm not sure, wether I'm going to use that name. I like it, I really do... I'm just not sure how I can get it in there.
Oh, just a story I'm starting to write... I don't know the title yet, but I can tell you this much for sure: It's going to be fantasy fiction and there's going to be demons, devils, angels, and humans in it. And more creatures, but I still need to invent some of them...
My mom would kill me if I played anything rated M, but in a couple of months I'll be allowed to play games rated T. Cuz I'm turning 13 in june. Yay me! =D =P =)
I would definitely recommend Artemis Fowl to anybody. I've read every book out so far in the series, I even read the companion book! But if you're that kind of impatient person, you could just read the graphic novel. It's not quite as good, because they illustrated some characters wrong, like Holly... she SHOULD be only about three feet tall, but the illustrator made her the same height as Artemis Fowl!!! Stupid, right? :| Maybe try reading starting from the chapter with the troll in it, that's guaranteed to keep you hooked on Artemis Fowl for the rest of your life... or you could skip most of the series and jump straight to Book 5, Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony. That's the best book in my opinion, but it won't make much sense to you if you don't read the first 4 first... haha that sounds funny...

Tan-
First of all, my name is Gwyn, not Gwyna, but I suppose if you were just writing to Gwina in the German guestbook, I shouldn't go too hard on you because of that one little confusion... :|
Yes, I do mean "Mini-Gurken". :) I love them! I just don't understand why they call them pickles here...
PS: Should I call you Tan,Tanj, Tanja, or Rogue?

Seratiala-
Those scientists may not get mythology right, but you made alot of spelling mistakes. Nobody's perfect! ^_^

Insa-
Wow, three siblings.. how can you handle that? I would probably go insane. And are they all older than you?

Gwyn
