Film/Theatre

I still remember the first play adapted from one of my books, and of course I also still remember the first day I spent at a movie set location, my stories' characters passing by - in the flesh!
Whether at the movie set or in the theatre - there's nothing more exciting to me than watching other artists telling my stories. I never expect them to do it the same way I did, because that's what's exciting about it: that they make me see my own story through their eyes!
To tell a story for the stage or the big screen one has to tell it differently. It has to have its own breath, its own vision and use all the advantages of the art, it is told with - the art of film making or of theatre. One main difference is: In a novel an author can take his time for telling a story, and the reader often spends days in that other world, but on a stage or in a movie the director has only two or three hours on his hand - and you can't hear the characters think, like in a book. That is all the art of the actors.
So - let's be curious how my stories will be told on stage and on the screen in the near future.
