As a children’s book author I mostly have to do with very happy children
who - with a broad smile – hold one of my books under my nose in
order to ask for my signature, if possible, with a drawn chicken or a dragon.
However, exactly these children again and again remind me of all those
who are less happy and ill and handicapped children. Because of these children
I have taken on a patronage of the Domestic Children’s Nursing so
that their employees can help ill children and their parents to come closer
to happiness again. I strongly believe in the positive effect, which the
home, a familiar room can have, familiar noises, the feeling that the body
is ill but that the family can always stay together just as before the
illness.
